The National Testing Agency (NTA), with government approval, has cancelled the NEET (UG) 2026 examination that took place on May 3, 2026. This decision was made after reviewing inputs from central agencies and investigative findings. These findings indicated that the integrity of the original examination process could not be maintained.
A re-examination will be conducted soon. The specific dates for this re-examination will be announced through official NTA channels. Information regarding the re-issuance of admit cards will also be communicated in due course.
Candidates should note that fresh registration will not be required for the re-conducted examination. All existing registration data, candidature details, and the examination centres chosen during the May 2026 cycle will remain valid and be carried forward.
No additional examination fee will be charged for the re-examination. Any fees already paid by students for the original examination will be refunded. The NTA will utilize its internal resources to conduct this re-examination efficiently.

The Government of India has decided to refer the issues surrounding the NEET (UG) 2026 to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
