The NEET-UG re-examination was conducted peacefully across all 47 examination centres in Prayagraj, with authorities ensuring comprehensive arrangements for the smooth conduct of the test, District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma told PTI.
A NEET UG 2026 aspirant was allegedly denied entry at her examination centre in Ajmer district on Sunday, June 21, for wearing a burqa, before being permitted to sit the exam after a standoff. The candidate, Kulsum Bano, had travelled from Beawar with her father to appear for the re-exam.
Kulsum Bano, says, "I have come from Beawar to take the NEET exam. When I took the exam on May 3rd, I was in the same attire then as I am now: wearing a burqa and a dupatta. Initially, they said I would have to remove the dupatta to enter; then they insisted I had to remove the burqa as well. If the NTA has permitted us, these people cannot stop us... If I am to take the exam and they don't allow me in this attire, then I simply won't take it... It is shameful that they are messing with 18-year-olds like this... The exam doesn't matter to me; what matters is my 'burqa' and my identity."

The NEET UG 2026 re-exam ends at 5:15 PM today. Student reactions and on-ground feedback will be added here as soon as candidates begin leaving the examination centres. Education experts and faculty will release a subject-wise paper analysis for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology shortly after the exam concludes.
Until verified first-hand reactions are available, candidates can refer to the broad subject pattern NEET has followed in recent years, where Physics is typically the most calculation-heavy and time-consuming section, Chemistry stays balanced, and Biology is generally the most scoring owing to its NCERT-based questions. The actual difficulty level of the June 21 re-exam will be confirmed only after student feedback and expert review.

A key administrative change for the re-exam: candidates received an additional 15 minutes for exam formalities, extending the window to 5:15 PM.
The original NEET UG 2026 was held on May 3, 2026. On May 12, 2026, NTA cancelled that examination following paper leak and malpractice allegations — investigations reportedly traced a "guess paper" circulating in Sikar, Rajasthan, that closely matched the actual exam. The re-test was scheduled for June 21 under tightened security, improved booklet design, and stronger monitoring across 564 cities.
A memory-based unofficial answer key prepared by coaching institutes is expected shortly after the exam ends, allowing students to estimate their scores set-wise before NTA's official key. NTA is expected to release the provisional answer key by June 24, 2026, after which candidates can raise objections within the notified window.
The NEET 2026 cutoff depends on the paper's difficulty, the number of candidates, and seats available. Expected cutoff ranges will be updated here based on post-exam analysis. NTA is expected to declare the NEET 2026 result in July 2026.
