NEET Merit List 2026: Types and Steps to Check

The NEET Merit List 2026 has been prepared after the declaration of the Re-NEET UG 2026 Result on 16 July 2026. Based on the revised results, the NEET 2026 Merit List includes the names and ranks of candidates who have qualified for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other medical courses.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the revised NEET UG 2026 results following the Re-NEET examination. Based on these results, eligible candidates can participate in the counselling and admission process conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and respective state counselling authorities.

Candidates can check their All India Rank (AIR) through the NEET result and refer to the counselling merit lists released by the concerned authorities for seat allotment.

NEET Merit List Cutoff Marks

NEET 2026 State Wise Merit List

Each state will release its own NEET 2026 State Wise Merit List for admission to medical colleges under the 85% state quota. Candidates who qualify in the NEET 2026 Result Merit List can apply for state counselling according to their domicile and eligibility criteria.

The NEET 2026 State Wise Merit List will determine admission to government and private medical colleges within the respective state.

NEET 2026 Counselling Merit List

With the declaration of the Re-NEET 2026 Result, the counselling process will now begin according to the schedule announced by MCC and the respective state authorities.

The counselling merit list will be used for:

NEET Merit List for MBBS Admission – Tie-Breaking Criteria

If two or more candidates score the same marks in the NEET Merit List 2026, the following tie-breaking criteria will be applied:

• Candidates securing higher marks in Biology will be given preference.

• If the tie persists, candidates with higher marks in Chemistry will be ranked higher.

• If the tie still remains, candidates with higher marks in Physics will be considered.

• If marks remain equal, candidates with fewer incorrect answers across all subjects will be ranked higher.

• If the tie continues, the issue will be resolved through a process guided by independent experts.
