The NEET 2026 AIR rank list represents the overall rank secured by candidates across the country.
The NEET 2026 AIR rank list will be released by NTA and will include the overall rank of candidates among all qualified aspirants. The NEET All India merit list 2026 is prepared after applying the 15% AIQ reservation rules and category-wise reservation guidelines.
After the NEET 2026 Result Merit List is announced, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and state counselling authorities conduct counselling for medical admissions based on the ranks secured in the NEET UG 2026 Rank List.
Each state will release its own NEET 2026 State Wise Merit List for admission to medical colleges under the 85% state quota. Candidates who qualify in the NEET 2026 Result Merit List can apply for state counselling according to their domicile and eligibility criteria.
The NEET 2026 State Wise Merit List will determine admission to government and private medical colleges within the respective state.
The NEET 2026 Counselling Merit List is prepared to conduct the admission process after the results are declared. Only candidates included in the NEET UG 2026 Rank List will be eligible to participate in counselling.
During counselling, the NEET Rank List 2026 PDF Download will be used to allot seats in medical colleges based on rank, category, and seat availability.
If two or more candidates score the same marks in the NEET Merit List 2026, the following tie-breaking criteria will be applied:
Candidates securing higher marks in Biology will be given preference.
If the tie persists, candidates with higher marks in Chemistry will be ranked higher.
If the tie still remains, candidates with higher marks in Physics will be considered.
If marks remain equal, candidates with fewer incorrect answers across all subjects will be ranked higher.
If the tie continues, the issue will be resolved through a process guided by independent experts.
