NEET JEE CUET Exam Centre Rule 2026: The JEE Main, NEET UG, and CUET UG exams will witness a big change from 2026 by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Candidates can't select an exam city; the exam centre will be allotted according to the address available in the Aadhaar card of the candidate. This will make it fairer and stop cheating in the process. Earlier, students were allowed to choose as many as 3, 4 cities, but now the students from small towns or villages would get the centres near their Aadhaar address as their exam centre.
The NTA has planned to make the document verification process a bit more strong for JEE Main, NEET UG, and CUET UG 2026. A student’s name, date of birth, and other particulars as available in his or her Aadhaar card must correspond to those on his or her Class 10 marksheet. Even a small mistake can cause your application to be invalid. Students should visit the nearest UIDAI centre to correct such mistakes. Make sure your address on Aadhaar is correct; this decides your centre for examination.
If you belong to SC, ST, OBC, EWS, or PwD, keep your category certificate updated. Make sure it has the same name as that on your Aadhaar card as well as your Class 10 marksheet. At times, errors/discrepancies among these documents can cause rejection of your reservation claim or disqualification from JEE Main 2026, NEET UG 2026, or CUET UG 2026.
The NTA has introduced this rule to make the exam process fairer and to strengthen candidate verification. Candidates are strongly advised to double-check all their documents and make corrections well in advance to avoid losing their chance to appear in these important exams. Proper document matching will also help in smooth exam centre allocation based on Aadhaar address and reduce last-minute issues.
The NTA has announced important changes for JEE Main 2026, NEET UG 2026, and CUET UG 2026 exams. This is applicable from the 2026 exam. Candidates cannot choose their exam city. Exam centres will be assigned based on the address in your Aadhaar card. Students are advised to check and update their Aadhaar before the application process, as no changes will be allowed once the application window opens.
The new exam centre rule will start with JEE Main 2026 exams in January and April 2026, and similar rules will apply for NEET UG and CUET UG 2026.
