AIBE 21 Pass Percentage 2026: A Dip From Last Year

This year's 65.92 per cent pass rate marks a decline from AIBE 20, in which 69.21 per cent of candidates qualified when results were announced in January 2026. Of the 1,75,701 candidates who sat for AIBE 21, 1,15,805 cleared the paper, while the rest fell short of the moderated cut-off.

Why Were AIBE 21 Qualifying Marks Reduced?

Before releasing the result, the BCI reduced the qualifying marks by three on the recommendation of its Monitoring Committee. Initially, the cut-off was fixed at 45 marks for General category candidates and 40 marks for SC, ST and PwD candidates, out of 100. After the Committee reviewed the question paper and the overall performance of candidates, it unanimously decided to moderate the results by lowering the qualifying threshold by three marks — bringing the effective cut-off to 42 for General and 37 for SC/ST/PwD candidates. This moderation directly benefits borderline candidates.

AIBE 21 Exam 2026: Who Appeared

The AIBE 21 examination was held on June 7, 2026, in offline (pen-and-paper) mode at 292 examination centres across 60 cities. A total of 1,75,701 candidates appeared, comprising:
