AIBE 21 Result 2026

The Bar Council of India (BCI) has activated the AIBE 21 result 2026 rechecking window today, July 28, giving law graduates who are unhappy with their All India Bar Examination scores a formal route to have their answer sheets re-verified. Candidates can now submit the AIBE XXI OMR rechecking application online at the official portal, allindiabarexamination.com.

The rechecking facility is time-bound. As per the official notice, the AIBE 21 result rechecking last date 2026 is August 4, 2026, until 05:00 PM. Applications submitted after this cut-off will not be processed, and the Council has clarified that no request will be accepted through offline, postal or walk-in mode.

AIBE 21 Rechecking 2026: What the BCI Notice Says

The notification states that candidates who wish to have their results or OMR sheets rechecked must fill the online application form on the official website meant for rechecking of the OMR sheet. Once the requests are received, the Council will re-verify the marked responses against the final answer key.

Crucially, the outcome will not be published as a public merit list. Any modified or updated score will be communicated directly to the registered email ID of the applicant. Candidates are therefore advised to keep their registered email active and to check the spam or promotions folder in the days following the deadline.

Who Should Apply for AIBE 21 Rechecking?

Rechecking is most useful for candidates whose scores sit within a narrow band of the qualifying cut-off. Because the AIBE is an OMR-based objective paper with no negative marking, a single mis-read bubble or a partially erased response can be the difference between a pass and a fail status. Candidates who scored two or three marks below the cut-off, or who believe a full section was not tallied correctly, are the natural applicants for the process.

Candidates should also note that rechecking is a verification of the OMR evaluation, not a fresh evaluation of subjective reasoning. Marks can be revised upward if a genuine discrepancy is found, and the score may also remain unchanged.

AIBE 21 Result 2026 and Passing Marks Recap

The Bar Council of India conducted AIBE 21 on June 7, 2026, in offline pen-and-paper mode. The final answer key was published on July 10, 2026, and the AIBE 21 result 2026 was declared on July 18, 2026. According to the data shared alongside the result, the overall pass percentage stood at 65.92 per cent.

The Council revised the AIBE 21 qualifying marks by three marks for all categories. Reports of the revised cut-off place the requirement at 42 per cent for General and OBC candidates and 37 per cent for SC and ST candidates, against the standard benchmark of 45 and 40 marks respectively. Candidates are advised to confirm their exact qualifying status from the scorecard available in their login.

There is no cap on the number of attempts in the All India Bar Examination, so candidates who do not clear AIBE 21 even after rechecking can register afresh for the next cycle.

What Happens After AIBE 21 Rechecking Result Is Out?

Once the rechecking outcome is communicated, candidates whose status changes to "Pass" become eligible for the Certificate of Practice (CoP), which is issued through the respective State Bar Council. The CoP is the mandatory credential that allows an enrolled advocate to appear before courts and tribunals, file vakalatnamas and represent clients independently. In previous cycles, the CoP has typically been processed within two to three months of the final result.

Candidates showing a "Pass Undertaking" status on their scorecard should note that this generally indicates pending enrolment verification with the State Bar Council rather than an evaluation error, and is usually resolved within seven to ten working days of submitting the required proof.

AIBE 22 Registration and Exam Date

For candidates who plan to reappear, the next cycle is already scheduled. AIBE 22 is reported to be slated for November 29, 2026, with the registration window expected to open from August 19, 2026, on the same official portal. An official notification confirming the schedule is awaited from the Bar Council of India.
