AIBE XXII Registration 2026 Begins: Apply Online, Last Date

The registration process for the All India Bar Examination XXII (AIBE 22) has begun today, August 19, 2026. Eligible candidates can fill out the AIBE XXII application form by visiting the official website, allindiabarexamination.com, or through the direct registration portal, aibe.digivarsity.online.

The official notification for AIBE XXII was released on July 18, 2026, and this edition marks a significant shift in the Bar exam calendar — the BCI has confirmed to the Supreme Court that the AIBE will now be held twice a year, with AIBE XXII following the conclusion of AIBE XXI in June.

AIBE XXII 2026: Registration Window and Exam Date

The AIBE 22 registration window will remain open from August 19 to October 27, 2026. The examination is scheduled to be conducted on November 29, 2026, in offline (pen-and-paper) mode at designated test centres across more than 50 cities in India.

The All India Bar Examination is a mandatory qualifying exam for law graduates. Candidates who clear it are awarded the Certificate of Practice (CoP) by the Bar Council of India — a compulsory credential to practise law before any court, tribunal or judicial authority in the country.

AIBE XXII Eligibility: Who Can Apply?

Candidates who have completed either a 3-year LLB or a 5-year LLB are eligible to apply. Final-year law students without backlogs, as well as candidates who have not yet received their enrolment certificate, can also register — though such candidates must submit the enrolment certificate after the result is published, failing which their result will be withheld.

AIBE Qualifying Marks and Certificate of Practice

The AIBE cut-off for General and OBC category candidates is 45 marks out of 100, while for SC/ST candidates it is 40 out of 100. Successful candidates receive the Certificate of Practice, which the BCI dispatches to the state bar council where the candidate is enrolled.

The AIBE syllabus covers basic legal concepts taught in LLB courses, and was revised recently to include the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam — aspirants should factor the new criminal laws into their preparation from day one.
