AIIMS NORCET 11 Registration 2026: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi has opened the application window for the Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test (NORCET) 11, one of the largest nursing recruitment drives of the year. A total of 2,218 Nursing Officer vacancies are on offer across AIIMS New Delhi, other participating AIIMS institutions and government medical institutes across the country.
Candidates who meet the eligibility conditions can register online at the official examination portal, aiimsexams.ac.in. The registration window closes on August 13, 2026 at 5 pm, and AIIMS has advised applicants not to wait for the final day, as heavy traffic on the portal in the closing hours often causes payment and submission failures.
The selected candidates will be appointed to Nursing Officer (Group B) posts placed at Level 7 of the Pay Matrix, corresponding to the pre-revised Pay Band of Rs 9,300–34,800 with Grade Pay of Rs 4,600.
Step 1: Visit the official website aiimsexams.ac.in
Step 2: Click on the NORCET 11 registration link on the homepage
Step 3: Complete the new candidate registration using a valid email ID and mobile number
Step 4: Log in with the generated credentials and fill in the application form
Step 5: Upload the photograph, signature and supporting documents in the prescribed format
Step 6: Pay the application fee online and submit the form
Step 7: Download the confirmation page and keep a printout for future reference
Applicants must satisfy one of the two educational qualification routes prescribed by AIIMS.
Route 1 — Degree holders: B.Sc (Hons) Nursing, B.Sc Nursing or Post-Basic B.Sc Nursing from an institute or university recognised by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) or a State Nursing Council, together with valid registration as a Nurse and Midwife with the State Nursing Council or the INC.
Route 2 — Diploma holders: Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) from an INC-recognised or State Nursing Council-recognised institute, along with registration as a Nurse and Midwife with the State Nursing Council or the INC, and a minimum of two years of experience in a hospital with at least 50 beds.
AIIMS has issued an important clarification for GNM candidates: the mandatory two-year experience will be counted only if it was gained after completing the course, after declaration of the result, and after registration with the State Nursing Council or the Indian Nursing Council. Experience acquired during training or before registration will not be accepted.
The prescribed age limit is 18 to 30 years for all AIIMS institutions. Age relaxation will apply as per the recruitment rules of the respective participating institutes. August 13, 2026 — the closing date of online registration — will be treated as the cut-off date for calculating age.
General and OBC candidates: Rs 3,000
SC, ST and EWS candidates: Rs 2,400
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): Exempted from payment
The fee can be paid online through debit card, credit card or net banking. AIIMS has stated that the application fee is non-refundable. However, the fee paid by SC and ST candidates who actually appear in the examination will be refunded after the declaration of results, subject to verification of their category certificates.

NORCET is the single common eligibility test through which nursing officers are recruited to AIIMS institutions and several other central government hospitals, which makes it the most sought-after nursing recruitment examination in India. With 2,218 posts on offer in this cycle and a fixed two-stage CBT structure, competition is expected to be intense. Candidates preparing for the September examination have roughly six weeks between the close of registration and Stage 1, and should focus on the core nursing subjects, clinical practice-based questions and current healthcare policy updates.
Candidates are advised to keep visiting aiimsexams.ac.in for the admit card, exam city slip and any corrigendum issued by the institute.
