The long wait of lakhs of Bihar teaching aspirants has ended. The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) on Tuesday, August 18, released the notification for the fourth phase of the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-4.0), inviting online applications from eligible Indian citizens for appointment to 32,388 vacant school teacher posts under the Education Department, Bihar.

BPSC TRE-4 Recruitment 2026: Registration From September 1

According to the notification, the online application process for BPSC TRE 4.0 will begin on September 1, 2026, and candidates will be able to submit applications until September 30. The fee payment window will also open on September 1, with September 29 being the last date for payment — meaning aspirants must complete the fee transaction before final submission of the form.

As per the notification, the minimum age limit is 18–21 years (varying by post), and the maximum age limit is 42 years as of January 1, 2026, with age relaxation applicable as per government norms for reserved categories.

BPSC TRE 4.0: Notification Came Amid Aspirants' Protests

The notification came amid mounting pressure from job aspirants, with student groups warning of larger protests if the recruitment process did not move forward. Aspirants had announced an indefinite fast in Patna from August 18 and had also threatened to march towards the Assembly if their demands remained unaddressed.

Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary had announced on July 29 that the Education Department had sent the requisition for all 32,388 vacancies to BPSC. With the formal advertisement now out, TRE-4 has finally moved from assurances to the application stage.

What is BPSC TRE?

The BPSC Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE) is conducted to recruit teachers for government schools across Bihar, filling teaching vacancies at various levels including primary, middle, secondary and higher secondary schools. The previous phase, TRE-3, was conducted in 2024 for over 87,000 posts, making TRE one of the largest teacher recruitment exercises in the country.

2. Click on the BPSC TRE 4.0 / Advertisement No. 14/2026 application link once it is activated on September 1.

3. Complete the registration using a valid email ID and mobile number.

4. Log in and fill in your personal, academic and teaching qualification details.

5. Upload the required documents, photograph and signature in the prescribed format.

6. Pay the application fee online before September 29.

7. Review the form carefully, submit it, and download the confirmation page for future reference.
