FAQ (In-Article): Why is CA Final pass percentage so low? The CA Final exam is widely regarded as one of India's toughest professional examinations. The pass percentage is low because the syllabus is quite lengthy and comprehensive with limited time for preparation. Considering the pass rate is only around 10–20%, roughly 80% of candidates do not clear the exam in the first attempt.
ICAI announces the merit list and toppers alongside the result. Check back on this page for the CA Final May 2026 AIR 1, 2, and 3 names and marks.

The CA Final May 2026 merit list contains the All India Rankings of candidates who have cleared both groups of the CA Final exam. The process to download the merit list is identical to downloading the result scorecard — log in at caresults.icai.org using your roll number and registration number. The merit list will reflect your AIR once the results are live.
According to ICAI's passing criteria, a candidate must score at least 40% in each individual paper and secure an overall aggregate of 50% across all papers in a group to pass the CA Final exam. This rule applies to both Group I and Group II independently.
FAQ (In-Article): Can I pass CA Final if I score 50% overall but below 40% in one paper? No. ICAI's rules are strict. Even if your overall aggregate crosses 50%, scoring below 40% in any single paper will result in a fail in that group. Both conditions — 40% per paper AND 50% aggregate — must be satisfied simultaneously.
After the CA Final result is announced, candidates can apply for marks verification. The window for marks verification opens the day after result declaration. Candidates can submit a request through the ICAI eservices portal. The fee is ₹100 per subject, ₹400 for one group, or ₹400 for both groups.
Candidates can also apply for assessed/photocopied answer sheets at ₹500 per paper to review examiner remarks and understand where marks were gained or lost.
