CAT 2026 Registration: The registration window for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2026 is closing today, September 15, 2026, at 5 PM. IIM Indore, the exam conducting institute for CAT 2026, will not accept fresh applications after the registration deadline. Candidates who are eligible and have not yet completed the CAT 2026 application form should submit their details, upload the required documents and pay the application fee before the deadline.

The CAT 2026 application process is being conducted online through the official website, iimcat.ac.in. Creating a login alone does not complete the registration. Candidates must fill in the application form, upload the required documents, select their test city preferences, pay the applicable fee and submit the form successfully before 5 PM today.

For candidates who successfully submit the CAT 2026 application and pay the fee within the deadline, IIM Indore is expected to provide a limited correction facility after registration closes. The correction facility is separate from registration and is expected to cover only selected fields such as the photograph, signature and test city preferences. The exact CAT 2026 correction-window dates have not been officially announced and should not be confused with unofficial dates circulating online.

CAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the prescribed academic eligibility requirements to appear for CAT 2026.

Applicants belonging to the General, EWS and NC-OBC categories must hold a bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA from a recognised university or educational institution.

Candidates belonging to the SC, ST and PwD categories must have at least 45% marks or an equivalent CGPA in their bachelor's degree.

Students who are currently in the final year of their bachelor's degree can also apply for CAT 2026. Candidates who have completed their degree requirements but are awaiting their results are also eligible to apply, subject to the conditions specified in the CAT admission process.

Meeting the CAT eligibility criteria allows a candidate to appear for the examination. However, admission to an IIM or another participating institute depends on the respective institute's admission criteria, selection process and other requirements.

CAT 2026 Application Fee

The CAT 2026 application fee is category-specific.

Candidates belonging to the General, EWS and NC-OBC categories are required to pay ₹2,700.

Candidates belonging to the SC, ST and PwD categories are required to pay ₹1,350.

The fee can be paid through online payment methods available on the CAT application portal, including UPI, credit card, debit card and net banking. Candidates should verify the payment status after completing the transaction and retain the application confirmation for future reference.

CAT 2026 Application Form: Documents Required

Candidates should keep the required documents and scanned files ready before completing the CAT application form. These may include:

  • Class 10 marksheet or certificate

  • Class 12 marksheet or certificate

  • Graduation marksheets or degree-related documents

  • Category certificate, if applicable

  • PwD certificate, if applicable

  • Scribe certificate, wherever applicable

  • Recent passport-size photograph

  • Scanned signature

  • Other academic or supporting documents required in the application

Candidates should make sure that the information entered in the application form matches their official documents. A mismatch in personal or academic information can create problems later in the admission process.

  6. Enter category and academic details carefully.

CAT 2026 Correction Window: What Can Be Edited?

IIM Indore is expected to open a short correction facility after the CAT 2026 registration deadline. However, the exact correction-window dates have not yet been officially confirmed.

Based on the information available for the CAT 2026 application process, candidates who successfully registered and paid the application fee within the deadline may be allowed to make limited changes to their photograph, signature and test city preferences.

Candidates should not treat the correction window as an extension of CAT registration. Those who fail to submit the CAT application and pay the fee by the September 15 deadline will not be able to use the correction facility to register later.

The correction window is also not expected to allow changes to every field in the application form. Therefore, candidates should carefully check their name, date of birth, category, academic details and other personal information before submitting the form.

CAT 2026 Exam Date and Pattern

IIM Indore will conduct CAT 2026 on November 29, 2026. The examination will be conducted in computer-based mode across approximately 170 cities in India and will be held in three sessions.

The CAT question paper will have three sections:

  • Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC)

The total examination duration is 120 minutes.

The three sections are designed to assess candidates' verbal, logical reasoning, data interpretation and quantitative aptitude skills.

CAT 2026 Admit Card Date

The next major milestone is the CAT 2026 examination on November 29. After the examination, candidates will await the CAT 2026 result and subsequent admission processes conducted by the IIMs and other participating institutions.
