The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to close the online application window for Class 10 marks verification and re-evaluation 2026 on August 19, 2026. The application window opened on August 16, 2026, and candidates can submit their requests online at the official website, cbse.gov.in. Students who wish to challenge their marks must complete the application and fee payment before the deadline, as no offline applications or late submissions will be entertained.
The facility is available to students of both the Class 10 Main Board and Second Board Examinations 2026, but only those candidates who have obtained the scanned copy of their evaluated answer book are eligible to apply for verification and re-evaluation. The application window for obtaining scanned copies of answer sheets ran earlier, from August 5 to 9, 2026.
CBSE released the circular titled "Post-result declaration facilities to the students of Class-X, Main and Second Board Examinations-2026" on August 5, 2026. The scanned copy application window ran from August 5 to August 9, 2026, with a fee of Rs 300 per subject, while the verification of marks and re-evaluation window runs from August 16 to August 19, 2026.
The fee is Rs 300 per answer book for verification of marks and Rs 100 per question for re-evaluation, including all sub-questions. Fee payment is accepted in online mode only. If verification or re-evaluation results in an increase in marks, the fee is refunded to the same account from which it was paid.
Step 1: Visit the official CBSE website, cbse.gov.in.
Step 2: Access the online facility for verification of marks and re-evaluation, and log in using the required examination and candidate details.
Step 3: Select the relevant answer book and the facility you wish to apply for.
Step 4: For re-evaluation, select the full question(s) for which re-evaluation is required and provide the reasons for the request.
Step 5: Pay the applicable fee online.
Step 6: Submit the application and retain the confirmation for future reference.
CBSE has stated that re-evaluation is conducted for a full question and not for a part of a question. Revised marks may go up or down, and any downward revision of even one mark will also be reflected in the marks. The result issued after verification or revaluation will be final. Only a single application is allowed per step, per candidate, so students must decide upfront exactly which subjects and answer books they want to pursue, since CBSE will not grant a second opportunity once an application is submitted. Once the outcome is declared, no appeal or further review will be entertained.
Where marks change after verification or re-evaluation, students holding the original mark statement cum certificate will be required to surrender it to obtain the revised document.
For reference, CBSE declared the Class 10 result 2026 for the main and second examinations on April 15, 2026, and July 18, 2026, respectively.
Students are advised to carefully review their scanned answer books and complete the application well before the August 19 deadline to avoid last-minute portal congestion.
