Raipur | July 9, 2026 — The Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) today opened the CGBSE 10th Second Main Exam 2026 with the Mathematics paper, giving thousands of High School students across Chhattisgarh a same-year second shot at the board certificate.
The CG Board 10th second main exam 2026 — the board's replacement for what students still search for as the "supplementary exam" — will run until July 21, 2026. Every paper is held in one morning sitting at designated centres across the state, and the complete subject-wise CGBSE 10th supplementary time table 2026 is already published on the board's official portal, cgbse.nic.in.
Three categories of candidates are sitting for this cycle:
Students who could not clear a maximum of two subjects in the main CGBSE 10th exams held from February 21 to March 13, 2026.
Students who remained absent from one or more papers in the first main examination.
Students seeking marks improvement in any subject, even after passing.
This is the structural change that separates Chhattisgarh from most state boards. Rather than treating July as a remedial "compartment" round, CGBSE now positions it as a genuine second main examination in the same academic year — a second board exam, not a consolation exam. The certificate carries no supplementary tag stigma, and improvement candidates may retain whichever score is higher.

Note the built-in gaps: a clear day before Hindi, two days before English, and a full day between Science and Social Science. That spacing is the single biggest planning advantage of this round, and students clearing two backlogs should map revision to those windows rather than treating the fortnight as continuous.
The board has issued a fixed centre protocol for every paper day:
9:00 AM — Candidates must be in their allotted seats inside the examination hall.
9:05 AM — Answer books distributed.
9:10 AM — Question papers distributed.
9:15 AM to 12:15 PM — Writing time (3 hours).
The 15-minute buffer between paper distribution and writing time is strictly for reading the question paper. Nothing may be written in the answer book during that window. Students are advised to reach the centre at least 30 minutes before the reporting time, allowing for frisking, seat location and monsoon-season travel delays.
CGBSE has explicitly clarified that the second main examination schedule will proceed as announced even if a public, local or unexpected holiday is declared during the July 9–21 window. Students should not assume a paper stands cancelled on the basis of a district-level holiday notice or local circulars.
Carrying the CGBSE 10th admit card on every single exam day is mandatory. No admit card, no entry — there is no discretionary relaxation at the centre level.
Carry:
Printed CGBSE 10th second main admit card
School identity card
Permitted stationery: blue/black ballpoint pen, pencil, eraser, sharpener, transparent geometry box, transparent water bottle
Do not carry:
Calculators, smartwatches, mobile phones, Bluetooth devices
Printed or handwritten material of any kind
Opaque pouches or bags into the hall
Students who have misplaced their admit card should contact their school head or centre superintendent immediately — a duplicate is issued through the institution, not directly to the candidate.
Candidates need 33 per cent in each subject to clear the paper. Marks improvement candidates retain the better of the two scores. Students who do not clear the second main examination retain further opportunity through the next academic year's board cycle — the twice-a-year structure means a missed attempt no longer costs a full year by default.
CGBSE 10th second main result 2026 is expected to be declared around August 2026 on cgbse.nic.in, cg.results.nic.in and results.cg.nic.in, with digital mark sheets typically mirrored on DigiLocker. The board has not yet notified an exact date; students should treat any circulating "confirmed result date" as unverified until it appears on the official portal.
