The Institute of Company Secretaries of India has left students just over two weeks to complete examination enrollment for the CSEET October 2026 session without paying a late fee. As per the official announcement issued by ICSI on 16 July 2026, the enrollment window closes on 15 August 2026. Enrollment is accepted in online mode only, and offline applications will be rejected outright.
Students who miss the deadline are not shut out completely — a five-day grace window runs from 16 August to 20 August 2026, but it costs an additional Rs 250 in late fee on top of the Rs 1,500 examination fee.
Several education portals are currently listing 7 August 2026 as the last date to enroll without a late fee. That figure does not match the ICSI documents. Both the official CSEET October 2026 announcement and the ICSI Cut-off Dates 2026 schedule state that the enrollment window opened on 16 July 2026 and closes on 15 August 2026 without late fee. Students should treat the ICSI portal and the official announcement PDF as the only binding source, and should not plan around secondary listings.
| Event | Date |
| Examination enrollment opened | 16 July 2026 |
| Last date without late fee | 15 August 2026 |
| Last date with Rs 250 late fee | 20 August 2026 |
| Change of centre / enrollment services window | 21 August to 1 September 2026 (up to 4:00 PM) |
| CSEET October 2026 exam dates | 1, 3, 5 and 6 October 2026 |
Requests received after these cut-offs will be rejected without further notice, as per the ICSI announcement.
| Particulars | Amount |
| Examination fee (payable at enrollment) | Rs 1,500 |
| Late fee (16–20 August 2026) | Rs 250 |
| Change of examination centre (per change) | Rs 250 |
| Overseas centre, Dubai — additional surcharge | US$100 (Rs 9,543) |
Two points students routinely get wrong here. First, the Dubai surcharge is over and above the Rs 1,500 examination fee, and it applies again if a student later shifts from an Indian centre to Dubai — in that case both the US$100 surcharge and the Rs 250 change-of-centre fee are payable. Second, a change of centre within the same city or zone is not permitted at all, even where a city has more than one centre.
For students registered under the restructured CSEET course, completion of the Online Student Induction Programme (SIP) is compulsory to appear in the October 2026 examination. This is the single most common reason otherwise-eligible students find themselves ineligible at the last moment. If SIP is pending, it should be completed before the enrollment form is submitted rather than after.
Go to the ICSI student portal at smash.icsi.edu and log in with your registration credentials.
Open the examination enrollment section for the CSEET October 2026 session.
Confirm that your Student Induction Programme is marked complete.
Fill in the enrollment details and select your examination centre preference.
Pay the Rs 1,500 examination fee online, or generate a Canara Bank challan.
Download and save the system-generated fee receipt.
Re-open your account after a day and verify that preliminary enrollment details are reflected correctly.
ICSI has issued unusually specific warnings on payment this cycle, and they are worth reading closely:
A fee receipt is generated only for successful transactions. An application without a valid fee receipt is rejected without notice.
A Request ID and a Transaction ID are generated even for failed payments. Getting these IDs is not proof of payment. Students must independently verify payment status.
If a payment fails, the examination form must be resubmitted.
For Canara Bank challan payments, the date of cash deposit at the branch is the date that counts for eligibility — not the date the challan was generated. Bank reconciliation can take three to four days.
A challan generated up to 15 August must be paid in cash by 15 August to stay in the no-late-fee window. Challans generated between 16 and 20 August must be deposited by 20 August. Cash deposited after 20 August leads to rejection.
ICSI has stated it may not be held responsible for submission or payment failures caused by technical load on the portal near the deadline.
The practical reading: anyone using the challan route should be finishing by roughly 11–12 August, not 15 August.
| Date and Day | Paper | Timing |
| 1 October 2026, Thursday | Business Communication | 2:30 PM to 5:45 PM |
| 2 October 2026, Friday | No examination | — |
| 3 October 2026, Saturday | Fundamentals of Accounting | 2:30 PM to 5:45 PM |
| 4 October 2026, Sunday | No examination | — |
| 5 October 2026, Monday | Economic and Business Environment | 2:30 PM to 5:45 PM |
| 6 October 2026, Tuesday | Business Laws and Management (OMR based) | 2:30 PM to 4:45 PM |
An additional 15 minutes of reading time is allotted from 2:30 PM to 2:45 PM before each paper, after which writing time begins. Note the two structural quirks of this session: the schedule is spread across four exam days with rest days on 2 and 4 October, and the final paper, Business Laws and Management, is OMR based and shorter than the other three.
CSEET is the gateway test for the CS Executive Programme, and ICSI conducts it three times a year — February, June and October. Missing the October window does not end the attempt cycle, but it pushes a candidate's CS Executive registration timeline by roughly four months, which in turn shifts the Executive and Professional programme attempt sequence. For students who cleared Class 12 in 2026 and want to compress the CS qualification timeline, the October session is the attempt that keeps the schedule intact.
