Latest Education News | New Delhi: The University of Delhi (DU) has officially kicked off online registrations for its four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) for the 2026–27 academic cycle. Aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the dual-major undergraduate programme combines foundational teacher education with specialized discipline majors.
Candidates who qualified or appeared in the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) 2026 conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) are eligible to complete their seat allocation registration on the dedicated admissions portal. The application window remains active until August 2, 2026.
The Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) is a flagship 4-year multidisciplinary undergraduate degree designed to prepare future educators right after Class 12. Unlike traditional B.Ed programmes that require a separate undergraduate degree, ITEP saves students a full academic year while offering dual-specialization in education and a chosen academic subject.
At Delhi University, candidates can choose from a wide range of specialized subjects across arts, science, commerce, and vocational streams:
Languages: English, Hindi, Sanskrit
Social Sciences: History, Economics, Political Science, Geography
Sciences: Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Computer Science
Co-Curricular & Specializations: Physical Education, Fine Arts, Music
NCET 2026 Score Mandatory: Admission to all seats in Delhi University's ITEP course will be granted strictly on the merit list derived from NCET 2026 scores.
Qualifying Examination: Candidates awaiting their Class 12 or equivalent qualifying examination results are also eligible to register provisionally.
No Extra Criteria: No secondary entrance examination or additional university-level screening will be conducted by DU.
