DU PG Admission 2026: Spot Round 1 Result Declared, 1,358 Seats Allotted to 10,577 Applicants — Accept Seat by 5 PM Today

Delhi University has announced the outcome of Spot Round 1 for postgraduate admissions for the academic session 2026-27. According to the university, 10,577 candidates submitted their consent to take part in the round, and 1,358 seats have been allotted to eligible applicants under CSAS PG 2026.

Candidates who have been allotted a seat now have a narrow window to lock it in. The deadline to accept the allotted seat is 5 PM today, July 31, 2026. Missing this cut-off will mean forfeiting the seat, and the vacancy will move back into the pool for subsequent rounds.

Spot Round 1 was opened specifically for candidates who had registered through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) PG 2026 but were unable to secure admission in any of the earlier allocation rounds. It functions as a second chance against seats that remained vacant after the regular rounds concluded.

DU PG Admission 2026: Spot Round 1 Schedule

The display of vacant seats took place on July 25, 2026. The Spot Round 1 application window was open from July 25 to July 26, 2026. The seat allocation result was declared on July 29, 2026. The seat acceptance deadline is July 31, 2026 at 5 PM. College verification and approval will be carried out from July 31 to August 1, 2026. The last date to pay the admission fee is August 2, 2026.

Who Was Eligible for DU PG Spot Round 1

The university clarified that participation was restricted to candidates already registered under CSAS PG 2026 who had not been admitted to any postgraduate programme up to that point. Fresh registrations were not permitted in this round.

Eligible applicants were required to log in to their CSAS dashboard, select the Spot Round option for the programme of their choice, and apply against the vacant seats displayed by the university. Once the acceptance step is completed by the candidate, the concerned departments and colleges carry out online verification and approval of the application.

What Allotted Candidates Must Do Now

Candidates should log in to the CSAS PG 2026 dashboard using their registered credentials, open the Spot Round 1 allotment tab and check the allotted programme and college, and click Accept Seat before 5 PM on July 31, 2026. The department or college will then verify and approve the application between July 31 and August 1, 2026. The final step is paying the admission fee online on or before August 2, 2026 to confirm admission.

Candidates should note that in spot rounds, acceptance is generally binding in nature. Once a spot allotment is accepted, the earlier preference order effectively ceases to matter and withdrawal options narrow considerably. It is advisable to be certain about the programme and college before clicking accept.

What Happens After Spot Round 1

If seats continue to remain vacant after the fee payment window closes on August 2, 2026, Delhi University may announce a further spot round. Any such announcement, along with a fresh list of vacant seats, would be published on the official admission portal. Candidates who did not receive an allotment in this round are advised to keep their CSAS dashboard active and monitor the official website rather than relying on unofficial channels.

Where to Check the Result

Candidates can check the Spot Round 1 seat allotment status by visiting du.ac.in and navigating to the CSAS PG 2026 dashboard, or by going directly to admission.uod.ac.in and logging in with their registered credentials.
