The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has officially postponed the release of the GATE 2026 Admit Cards, originally scheduled for today, January 2. This update has triggered a massive surge in search queries from over 8 lakh engineering aspirants nationwide.

The official portal, gate2026.iitg.ac.in, now displays a critical notice: "The release date of the GATE 2026 admit card has been postponed. The revised release date will be announced soon."

Is the GATE 2026 Exam Postponed?

Fact Check: No. While the admit card release is delayed, the examination dates remain unchanged. IIT Guwahati will conduct the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026. Candidates are advised to continue their preparation as per the original schedule.
