An important update for every young aspirant dreaming of wearing the Air Force blue. The Indian Air Force has released the official notification for Agniveer Vayu Recruitment 2026 (Intake 02/2027) under the Agnipath Scheme, and the online application window is now live. Eligible unmarried male and female candidates who wish to serve the nation can apply straight from home through the official CASB portal — agnipathvayu.cdac.in — or the direct apply link given below.
The registration process is completely online, and only applications received in online mode will be considered. The last date to submit the form is 26 July 2026, so candidates who meet the eligibility conditions should not wait until the final day, when portal traffic is heaviest.
The recruitment calendar for Intake 02/2027 is tight, and every date below is worth marking. Online applications can be submitted from 06 July 2026 till 26 July 2026, with the selection test scheduled for 22–23 September 2026. Admit cards for Phase I will be released on the CASB portal a few days before the exam, and candidates are advised to keep checking their registered email and login dashboard.
To be eligible, a candidate must satisfy the educational qualification for one of the two streams:
Science Subjects (Technical stream): Passed Class 12 / Intermediate in the Science stream with Mathematics, Physics and English from a recognised board, securing a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. Candidates holding a three-year engineering diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, Computer Science, Instrumentation Technology or a similar branch (min 50% aggregate and 50% in English in the diploma or in Class 12) are also eligible. A two-year vocational course with the non-vocational subject English, secured with a minimum of 50% marks, is likewise accepted.
Other Than Science Subjects (Non-Science stream): Passed Class 12 / Intermediate in any stream from a recognised board with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% in English, or an equivalent two-year vocational course under the same marking condition.
Only unmarried Indian male and female candidates are eligible to apply.
The single most important eligibility check is the date of birth. For Intake 02/2027, a candidate must have been born between 01 July 2005 and 01 January 2010 (both dates inclusive). In practical terms, this corresponds to the Agnipath age band of roughly 17½ to 21 years, with the upper age assessed at the time of enrolment. Candidates who fall even one day outside this birth window will not be considered, so applicants should verify their date of birth against their Class 10 certificate before applying.
Both male and female candidates must meet a minimum height of 152 cm. Region-specific and reserved-category relaxations apply as per Indian Air Force norms. Chest expansion, weight and vision standards are laid out in detail in the official notification, and candidates should read them carefully before appearing for the Physical Fitness Test.
The application fee for Agniveer Vayu Intake 02/2027 is ₹550 plus 18% GST for candidates across all categories. The fee is non-refundable and must be paid online only, through the official payment gateway while submitting the application form.
Agniveer Vayu recruits serve a four-year engagement. The starting monthly package in the first year is around ₹30,000, rising annually to about ₹40,000 by the fourth year, along with allowances and a non-contributory life insurance cover. On completion of four years, Agniveers receive a one-time Seva Nidhi package of approximately ₹10.04 lakh (excluding interest), and all Agniveers are eligible to voluntarily apply for enrolment in the permanent cadre based on merit and service performance.
The selection is conducted in three phases and each stage is elimination-based:
Phase I — Online Test: An objective, bilingual (English & Hindi, except the English paper) computer-based test covering the subjects relevant to the chosen stream.
Phase II — Physical Fitness Test (PFT) & Adaptability Tests: A 1.6 km run (7 minutes for male candidates, 8 minutes for female candidates), followed by push-ups, sit-ups and squats as per IAF standards, along with Adaptability Test-I and Adaptability Test-II.
Phase III — Medical Examination: A detailed medical check-up as per Air Force medical standards, followed by document verification and the final merit list.
