The Joint Admission Committee (JAC), Chandigarh is set to announce the Round 1 seat allotment result 2026 today, July 10, on the official counselling portal, jacchd.admissions.nic.in. As per the published schedule, the allotment link will go live after 8 PM. Candidates who completed registration, document verification and Round 1 choice locking can check their allotted institute and branch by logging in with their JEE Main 2026 application number and password.
The JAC Chandigarh Round 1 seat allotment has been prepared on the basis of four factors: the candidate's JEE Main 2026 rank, the reservation category claimed, the order of choices locked during counselling, and the number of seats available in each participating institute. Two candidates with nearly identical ranks may therefore receive entirely different colleges or branches, depending purely on the sequence in which they arranged their preferences.
The counselling facilitates admission to engineering and architecture programmes offered by the premier technical institutes of the Union Territory:
Admission to B.E. and B.Tech programmes is based on the JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 All India Rank, while B.Arch admission at CCA is governed by the JEE Main 2026 Paper 2 rank.

How to Check JAC Chandigarh Round 1 Allotment Result 2026
Follow these steps to download the allotment letter:
Candidates are advised to take a screenshot of the allotment screen in addition to downloading the PDF, as server traffic is typically at its heaviest in the first hour after the link goes live.
Securing a seat in Round 1 is not the end of the process. Allotted candidates must complete two mandatory actions between July 10 and July 13, 2026:
First, they must pay the online admission or seat acceptance fee through the candidate portal. Second, they must record their willingness — that is, indicate whether they wish to freeze the allotted seat or float it for possible upgradation in subsequent rounds.
Candidates who fail to complete fee payment and willingness submission within the prescribed deadline stand to lose their allotted seat. Once the seat is forfeited at this stage, it is released back into the vacancy pool for the next round, and the candidate is excluded from further regular rounds of counselling.
Candidates who have been allotted a seat but do not wish to continue in the process can formally withdraw on July 14, 2026. Withdrawal must be exercised through the online portal within the stipulated window; requests submitted after the cut-off are not entertained.
Two categories of candidates can participate in the second round. The first are those who were not allotted any seat in Round 1. The second are those who received an allotment but opted to float their seat in the hope of an upgrade to a preferred branch or institute.
As per the official schedule, Round 2 choice filling and locking will be conducted from July 15 to July 17, 2026. The JAC Chandigarh Round 2 seat allotment result will be announced on July 18, 2026, after 8 PM.
Candidates entering Round 2 should treat the Round 1 opening and closing ranks as their primary planning tool. Branch demand at UIET and CCET shifts noticeably between rounds as higher-ranked candidates move to NITs and IIITs through JoSAA, releasing seats in Computer Science, Information Technology and Electronics and Communication Engineering.
A common and costly error is misreading the willingness option. Choosing "freeze" locks the current allotment permanently and removes the candidate from upgradation consideration. Choosing "float" retains the current seat as a safety net while keeping the candidate eligible for an upgrade in Round 2 and Round 3. A floated seat is never downgraded — the candidate either moves up or stays exactly where they are. Candidates who are even marginally unsatisfied with their Round 1 allotment should float rather than freeze.
While physical reporting at the allotted institute is required only at a later stage of the process, candidates should assemble the following documents now: JEE Main 2026 scorecard and rank card, Class 10 certificate for date of birth verification, Class 12 marksheet and passing certificate, category certificate (SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS) issued in the prescribed format, PwD certificate where applicable, character certificate from the last institution attended, migration or transfer certificate, and a gap year affidavit for candidates who passed Class 12 before 2026.
Heavy traffic in the minutes following the result release frequently slows the NIC-hosted portal. Candidates should avoid refreshing the page repeatedly, try an incognito browser window, clear cache and cookies, and attempt access during off-peak hours later in the night. JAC Chandigarh also dispatches allotment intimation to registered email addresses and mobile numbers, so candidates should check their inbox and spam folder if the portal is unresponsive.
Candidates are advised to rely only on jacchd.admissions.nic.in for authentic updates and to ignore unofficial links circulating on social media and messaging platforms claiming to host the allotment result.
