JEE Main 2026 Hall Ticket Released: 7 Crucial Steps You Must Take Immediately

The JEE Main 2026 Admit Card is officially out. While downloading it is the first step, many candidates overlook critical instructions that could lead to disqualification. To ensure a stress-free exam day, follow this comprehensive checklist of what to do after the hall ticket release.

1. How to Download and Print Your Admit Card

Do not wait until the last minute. High server traffic can often slow down the official NTA website.

  • Official Link: Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in.

  • Login Credentials: Use your Application Number and Date of Birth/Password.

  • Format: Save the PDF and take at least two clear color printouts on A4 paper.

Note: Digital copies on mobile phones are not accepted at the exam center.

2. Mandatory Verification: Check for These 7 Details

Once downloaded, cross-verify the following information. If there is a mismatch, contact the NTA Help Desk immediately.

  1. Candidate Name & Roll Number: Must match your ID proof.

  2. Date of Birth: Should be identical to your Class 10th certificate.

  3. Exam Date & Shift: Confirm if you are in the Morning or Afternoon session.

  4. Paper Type: B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch, or B.Planning.

  5. Test Center Address: Check the exact location and city code.

  6. Photograph & Signature: Must be clear and legible.

  7. Reporting Time: Note the gate closing time strictly.

3. Complete the Self-Declaration & Photograph Requirements

The NTA often includes a Self-Declaration (Undertaking) form within the admit card.

  • Photograph: Paste a passport-size photo (same as the one used in the application).

  • Thumb Impression: Affix your left-hand thumb impression in the designated space before reaching the center.

  • Signature: Do NOT sign the admit card at home. This must be done in front of the invigilator.

4. Plan Your Logistics: "The Dry Run"

Avoid "Exam Day Panic" by scouting your route in advance.

  • Visit the Center: If possible, visit the venue a day early to estimate travel time.

  • Reporting Time: Aim to reach the center at least 60 minutes before the gate closes. Remember, late entry is strictly prohibited.

5. Documents Checklist: What to Carry

You will not be allowed to enter the hall without these physical documents:

  • Printed Admit Card (with the self-declaration filled).

  • Valid Photo ID: Original Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport, or Voter ID.

  • Additional Photos: Carry 2 spare passport-size photos for the attendance sheet.

  • Transparent Pen: A simple transparent ballpoint pen.

6. Strict Dress Code & Prohibited Items

To speed up the frisking process, adhere to the NTA dress code:

  • Clothing: Wear light, simple clothes (avoid large buttons or many pockets).

  • Footwear: Wear slippers or sandals. Shoes with thick soles are not allowed.

  • No Jewelry: Avoid rings, bracelets, or metallic items.

  • Banned Items: No mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, bags, or notebooks.
