
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an updated set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for the JEE Main 2026 examination, covering key points related to application, eligibility, exam pattern, documents, fees, and candidate support. The document consolidates all major queries raised by students and clarifies the procedures to be followed for both Session 1 and Session 2. Check the official FAQ PDF here.
NTA has confirmed that the application process for JEE Main 2026 will be conducted on its official website. Students can reach the helpline at 011-40759000 or email their queries to jeemain@nta.ac.in.
The exam is scheduled in two sessions:
Session 1: January 21–30, 2026
Session 2: April 2–9, 2026

The application form is available at the official NTA JEE website. Helpline support is provided via 011-40759000 and the official email ID.
The examination will be held in January and April 2026 as part of its two-session structure.
Instructions for filling out the application form are included in the Information Bulletin. A sample form is provided in Appendix IX.
Candidates must apply separately for Session 1 and Session 2. The Session 2 application window will open later.
Students who do not register for Session 1 can still apply for Session 2 when the portal opens.
Appearing in both sessions is optional. If a candidate attempts both, the better NTA score will be used for ranking.
Calculators of any form are not allowed in the exam.
CBSE students must use the registration number mentioned in the CBSE letters dated October 30 and November 4, 2025. Other board students may use their respective registration or roll numbers.
DigiLocker documents are accepted for upload.
Students improving Class 12 marks must select the option “Passed.”
Students are required to refer to Chapter 3 of the Information Bulletin for eligibility and qualifications.

OCI/PIO candidates must enter 111111 in the PIN code field.
Candidates must ensure that the mobile number linked to Aadhaar is active and accessible.
A name mismatch will not affect eligibility.
APAAR ID is not mandatory.
Instructions for capturing the live photograph are provided under Step 2 of the application process.
Any mismatch between the Aadhaar photo and the live photo will be reviewed by NTA. Major issues will be communicated to candidates.
Candidates must follow instructions of the RPwD Act and related guidelines issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

Guidelines are provided in Chapter 4. Required details in the undertaking form must be filled except exam-centre details, which will be entered at the centre.

Uploading the certificate is not required. Only certificate number, issue date, and issuing authority must be filled.
No documents, including confirmation pages, are to be sent to NTA physically.
NTA will not change exam dates in case of clashes with any national or state examinations.
A computer system randomly assigns the date and shift.
A one-time correction facility will be provided for selected fields.
Submitted application forms cannot be cancelled or withdrawn.

Exam centres cannot be changed once allotted.

If the confirmation page is not generated, candidates should pay the fee again. Extra payments will be refunded.
