The National Testing Agency has finally ended the suspense on whether JEE Main 2026 dates will be changed in case they clash with other entrance exams — and the answer is a strict NO.
This confirmation appears in the newly released JEE Main FAQs on jeemain.nta.nic.in, putting thousands of students on alert.
After weeks of concerns about overlapping exam schedules, NTA has made it clear that no candidate will get a change of exam date or shift under any circumstance, even if another exam falls on the same day. Students registering for multiple tests now have no room for error and must ensure their calendars don’t collide.
Adding to this, NTA has reiterated that JEE Main 2026 has no slot booking. Every candidate’s exam date and shift will be randomly assigned, with zero option to request changes later. The JEE Main 2026 city intimation slip — carrying your exam city and exam date — will be released in the first week of January 2026, while the shift timing will only appear on the admit card.
JEE Main 2026 will be held from January 21 to 30 for Session 1 and April 2 to 9 for Session 2. With two tight windows and no flexibility, engineering aspirants appearing for multiple exams must double-check other schedules to avoid a costly clash.
