The JEE Main 2027 registration date is one of the biggest upcoming updates for engineering aspirants. The National Testing Agency has announced the tentative examination calendar for 2027, but the detailed JEE Main 2027 application form date has not been notified yet.
Based on the registration timeline followed for JEE Main 2026, the JEE Main 2027 Session 1 application process is expected to begin in October 2026. However, candidates should not treat the last week of October as a confirmed form release date until NTA publishes the examination-specific notification.
The detailed JEE Main 2027 information bulletin is expected to provide the application dates, eligibility conditions, examination fee, correction window, examination cities and other registration instructions.
JEE Main 2027 registration will be conducted online through the official JEE Main website.

The Aadhaar update requirement for JEE Main is another important area candidates should prepare for before the application window opens.
NTA's official JEE Main portal has previously carried an advisory asking candidates to update their Aadhaar Card, UDID Card and category certificate before filling the application form. The JEE Main 2026 application process also used Aadhaar-based e-KYC and identity-related checks.
For JEE Main 2027, candidates should therefore check whether their personal details are consistent across their identification and academic documents. The final identity verification rules for JEE Main 2027 will be known only after NTA releases the new information bulletin.
Candidates should verify:
Name spelling
Date of birth
Photograph
Other personal details
Aadhaar authentication status, where applicable
Details in Class 10 and other academic records
This is particularly important because discrepancies between identification documents and application details can create verification-related issues.
Important: The previous-cycle Aadhaar advisory should not be treated as the final JEE Main 2027 rule until NTA issues the 2027 registration notification.
Candidates can use the period before registration to keep their documents ready. The final list and specifications will be confirmed by NTA in the JEE Main 2027 information bulletin.
Aspirants should keep the following information and documents readily available:
Aadhaar or applicable identity document
Class 10 academic details
Class 12 or qualifying examination details
Category certificate, wherever applicable
PwD or UDID-related documents, wherever applicable
Recent photograph as per NTA specifications
Signature as per prescribed specifications
Active mobile number
Active email ID
Payment method for the application fee
Candidates should check the final image size, format and document specifications in the official notification before uploading anything.
The registration process involves submitting personal and academic information that candidates will use throughout the examination cycle. Keeping these details consistent before the form opens can reduce the possibility of last-minute corrections.
NTA has previously introduced identity-related measures such as OTP-based Aadhaar e-KYC, AI-based face comparison and live photograph comparison with Aadhaar/DigiLocker photographs in the JEE Main application process.
Therefore, candidates preparing for JEE Main 2027 should not wait until the registration deadline to check their identification details.
Aadhaar should not be treated as the only possible identification route without checking the latest NTA instructions.
In previous JEE Main application processes, NTA provided identity-verification alternatives for candidates who did not use Aadhaar. The exact options and any additional verification requirements for JEE Main 2027 will be specified in the upcoming information bulletin.
Candidates should therefore wait for the official 2027 instructions instead of relying entirely on previous-year rules.
NTA has not yet released the detailed JEE Main 2027 Session 2 registration schedule.
JEE Main is conducted in two sessions, with the second session generally associated with the April examination cycle. However, candidates should wait for NTA's separate 2027 notification for the exact Session 2 application dates and examination schedule.
The current NTA calendar provides the January 2027 Session 1 schedule but does not constitute the complete examination-specific application notification.
The upcoming JEE Main 2027 notification and information bulletin are expected to provide the details candidates need to complete the application process.
These are likely to include:
JEE Main 2027 registration start date
Last date to apply
Application fee
Eligibility criteria
Required documents
Photograph and signature specifications
Examination cities
Application correction facility
Session 1 exam details
Admit card information
Examination pattern and instructions
Session 2 details, where applicable
Candidates should use the official NTA and JEE Main websites as the primary sources once the notification is released.
The registration window is not open yet, so candidates have time to complete basic document checks.
First, verify the spelling of the name and date of birth in Aadhaar and academic records. Candidates applying under reserved categories should also check whether their applicable certificates are valid and available.
Students should also keep an active mobile number and email ID ready because these details may be required throughout the JEE Main application and examination process.
Most importantly, candidates should not rely on expected dates for submitting the form. The exact JEE Main 2027 registration date, fee, eligibility requirements and application deadline will become official only when NTA releases the detailed notification.
The JEE Main 2027 registration update comes after NTA released its examination calendar for major exams scheduled between December 2026 and March 2027. JEE Main Session 1 is among the major examinations included in the calendar, with the January 22–24 and January 28–30 dates proposed and January 31 retained as a buffer date.
With the January examination window already announced, attention is now shifting to the JEE Main 2027 application form date, detailed notification and registration process. Education-focused coverage is currently reporting October 2026 as the expected registration period, but the exact date remains unconfirmed by NTA.
