The Joint Entrance Examination Council, Uttar Pradesh (JEECUP) has extended the deadline for the decision-making and fee payment for JEECUP 2026 counselling Round 1. Candidates who were allotted a seat in the first round can now lock their choice and complete the payment by July 6, 3:00 PM, instead of the earlier cut-off of July 5, 2026. The revised schedule has been published on the official website, jeecup.admissions.nic.in.
If you cleared the UPJEE (Polytechnic) exam and secured a seat in the JEECUP round 1 seat allotment result, this extension is your final window to confirm admission — don't let the seat lapse.

After the seat allotment, every candidate in JEECUP 2026 counselling must pick one of two options before paying the fee:
Freeze: Choose this if you are fully satisfied with your allotted seat. Selecting Freeze locks the seat and takes you straight to the mandatory document verification stage. Note that once you freeze, you exit further rounds and will not be considered for an upgrade.
Float: Choose this if you want to retain your current seat as a backup but still hope to upgrade to a higher-preference institute or branch in the upcoming rounds. Float keeps you in the running for a better seat in JEECUP Round 2.
To confirm either choice, candidates must pay a total of Rs 3,250 online — Rs 3,000 as the seat acceptance/security fee and Rs 250 as the counselling fee. Payment can be completed through net banking, debit card, credit card or UPI on the portal.
Failure to pay within the extended deadline of July 6, 3 PM will lead to automatic cancellation of the allotted seat. Such candidates will forfeit their chance to participate in the second and third rounds of JEECUP counselling. In short: no payment, no seat, no next round.
Candidates who select the Freeze option must complete physical document verification at their designated district Help Centre. This window remains active until July 6, 2026, up to 6:00 PM. Carry your original documents — allotment letter, JEECUP scorecard/rank card, Class 10 & 12 mark sheets, category/reservation certificate (if applicable), and photo ID.
Once Round 1 concludes, the second round of choice filling for qualified UP-state candidates begins on July 7, 2026. As a reminder for the upcoming rounds: candidates who chose Float in Round 1 (and paid the fee) stay eligible for Round 2, while those who chose Freeze move to admission and step out of the upgrade process. JEECUP counselling is conducted across five rounds in two phases, with the early rounds reserved for Uttar Pradesh domicile candidates.
Bottom line: If you're an allotted candidate, log in to jeecup.admissions.nic.in now, select Freeze or Float, pay Rs 3,250, and — if you froze — complete document verification by 6 PM today, July 6.
