The Joint Entrance Examination Council, Uttar Pradesh will declare the JEECUP seat allotment 2026 for round 2 today, July 10, 2026. Candidates who took part in the second round of choice filling can check the JEECUP seat allotment result on the official counselling portal, jeecup.admissions.nic.in, by logging in with their application number and password.
The JEECUP 2026 seat allotment is prepared on the basis of the candidate's rank in the entrance test, the order of choices locked during choice filling, category and the number of seats available in each institute. Round 2 choice filling ran from July 7 to July 9, 2026, and only those candidates who qualified the UPJEE (Polytechnic) exam are eligible to participate in the counselling process for diploma admissions across Uttar Pradesh.
The Council has confirmed the release date for the JEECUP round 2 seat allotment, but has not officially specified a release time. The round 1 seat allotment result was published on July 1, 2026, and it went live in the evening at around 6 PM. Going by that pattern, the round 2 JEECUP 2026 seat allotment is expected to be activated on the portal in the evening hours. Candidates are advised to keep refreshing the official website rather than relying on unofficial links.

Getting a seat is only the first step. Candidates allotted a seat must complete the next stage within the scheduled window, or the allotment lapses.
The seat acceptance cum counselling fee has to be deposited between July 11 and July 13, 2026. The seat acceptance fee is Rs 3,000, payable online through MOPS, and it is later adjusted against the admission fee charged by the allotted institute. The JEECUP counselling fee itself is Rs 250 and can be paid using a credit card, debit card or internet banking, with an offline e-challan option also available.
After the seat allotment result, every allotted candidate has to record a willingness option. Those who are satisfied with the allotted college and branch should select "freeze", while candidates who want to be considered for upgradation in the next round should select "float".
Choosing freeze locks your current seat and removes you from further upgradation. Choosing float keeps you in the running for a better institute or branch in round 3, but your existing seat may be replaced if an upgrade is allotted. Candidates who float must be prepared to accept the upgraded seat, as the earlier allotment is surrendered once an upgradation is made.

The Joint Entrance Examination Council, Uttar Pradesh was set up in 1986-87 to handle admissions to polytechnic institutions across the state through a state-level entrance test. The counselling is conducted entirely online and covers government, aided, private and other participating institutes across Uttar Pradesh. For lakhs of Class 10 pass-outs in the state, the JEECUP counselling rounds are the single entry route into a three-year diploma, making each allotment round a decisive moment.
Candidates who do not receive an allotment in round 2 are not out of the process. They can register afresh for the round 3 choice filling window opening on July 16, 2026, and fill preferences based on the vacancy position published after round 2 closes. Filling a larger number of choices, including less popular trades and institutes outside the home district, materially improves allotment chances in later rounds.
