JKBOSE Re-Evaluation Rules: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has withdrawn the mandatory requirement of securing at least 20% marks in a subject to apply for answer script re-evaluation. The revised rule allows eligible candidates to seek re-evaluation irrespective of the marks obtained in the concerned subject. The decision covers Classes 10, 11 and 12, Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) and Jammu and Kashmir State Open School (JKSOS) examinations for Classes 10 and 12. Students must still follow the prescribed application procedure, fee requirements and deadlines.
JKBOSE has removed the minimum 20% marks eligibility condition for students seeking re-evaluation of their answer scripts. Previously, candidates could apply for re-evaluation only in subjects in which they had secured at least 20% of the total marks assigned to that subject.
With the withdrawal of this condition, students who score below 20% in a subject can also apply for re-evaluation, subject to the other applicable rules. The decision modifies the earlier provision dated May 29, 2006.
The revised provision applies to the Secondary School Examination (Class 10), Higher Secondary Examination Part I (Class 11), Higher Secondary Examination Part II (Class 12), D.El.Ed. examinations and JKSOS examinations for Classes 10 and 12.
However, the relaxation concerns eligibility based on minimum marks. It does not mean that students can skip the prescribed application procedure or submit their forms after the deadline. The board has clarified that the other existing terms and conditions governing re-evaluation will remain unchanged. The notification will have prospective effect.
Under the revised JKBOSE re-evaluation rules, candidates covered by the notification can apply irrespective of the marks secured in the concerned subject. The categories covered include:
Class 10: Students appearing for the JKBOSE Secondary School Examination can seek re-evaluation without meeting the earlier 20% minimum marks condition.
Class 11: Candidates appearing for the Higher Secondary Examination Part I can also apply irrespective of their marks in the subject concerned.
Class 12: Students appearing for the Higher Secondary Examination Part II are covered by the revised eligibility provision.
Jammu and Kashmir State Open School: Candidates appearing for JKSOS Class 10 and Class 12 examinations can apply under the revised rule.
D.El.Ed. candidates: The revised provision also covers candidates appearing for Diploma in Elementary Education examinations.
Students should check the relevant notification for their examination session to confirm the applicable application dates, fee and other eligibility conditions.
Students who wish to apply for JKBOSE answer script re-evaluation should follow the instructions issued by the board for their examination session. The withdrawal of the minimum marks condition does not automatically submit an application on behalf of a candidate.
The application process generally involves visiting the official JKBOSE website at jkbose.jk.gov.in and checking the latest notification concerning re-evaluation of answer scripts. Candidates should open the relevant application link, read the instructions, enter the required examination and personal details, pay the prescribed fee and submit the form within the notified deadline.
After submitting the application, students should retain the confirmation or payment receipt for future reference. They should also check the official website regularly for updates related to the application window and re-evaluation process.
Candidates should not rely on application dates or fee details announced for an earlier examination session. The applicable schedule and charges must be verified through the relevant JKBOSE notification.
The revised decision removes the minimum 20% marks requirement for applying for re-evaluation. It does not announce a blanket waiver of the application fee or an extension of the application deadline.
Candidates must continue to pay the applicable fee and submit their forms within the timeline prescribed by JKBOSE. The fee and last date may depend on the examination session and the notification issued for the relevant class.
Students should therefore check the latest official notice before applying. They should also distinguish between applying for re-evaluation and requesting a photocopy of an answer script, as these may have separate procedures, fees and deadlines.
The removal of the minimum marks condition expands access to the re-evaluation process for candidates who previously could not apply because they scored below 20% in a subject.
For example, a student who secured less than 20% marks in a particular paper can now apply for re-evaluation under the revised eligibility provision, provided the student meets the remaining requirements. This gives eligible candidates an opportunity to seek a review of their answer scripts without being excluded solely because of their marks.
However, applying for re-evaluation does not guarantee an increase in marks or a change in the result. The outcome will depend on the board's re-evaluation process and the applicable rules.
Students are advised to review the notification carefully, verify their examination details and complete the application within the prescribed period.
The main change is the withdrawal of the mandatory 20% minimum marks condition for answer script re-evaluation. The revised provision covers JKBOSE Classes 10, 11 and 12, D.El.Ed. and JKSOS Classes 10 and 12.
The application procedure, prescribed fee, deadlines and other existing conditions continue to apply. Candidates should visit jkbose.jk.gov.in for the relevant notification and instructions before submitting their applications.
