The registration window for Karnataka NEET MDS Counselling 2026 — also referred to as PGET MDS 2026 — has now closed. The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) had originally set August 17 as the deadline but extended it to August 19, 2026, after candidates reported payment gateway delays and document upload issues. With registration now shut, registered candidates must stay alert for the upcoming seat allotment announcement on the official KEA portal, kea.kar.nic.in.
Following the closure of the registration window, KEA is expected to announce the schedule for choice filling, document verification and seat allotment shortly. Based on the counselling pattern of previous years, the next stages will proceed as follows:
| Stage | Expected Timeline |
| Registration closed | August 19, 2026 |
| Choice filling / option entry | To be announced by KEA |
| Document verification | To be announced by KEA |
| Seat allotment result | To be announced by KEA |
| Reporting to allotted college | To be announced by KEA |
| Official portal | kea.kar.nic.in |
Candidates are advised to keep checking kea.kar.nic.in regularly for the official announcement, as KEA typically releases the choice-filling schedule within a few days of the registration closing date.
Once KEA announces the choice-filling window, registered candidates will need to log in to the KEA portal and select their preferred MDS colleges and specialisations in Karnataka in order of priority. Key points to remember during choice filling:
Arrange choices carefully — your allotment depends entirely on your NEET MDS 2026 rank, category and the order of preferences you submit.
Do not leave choices unlocked — only locked choices are considered for seat allotment.
Research college infrastructure, faculty strength and specialisation availability before filling preferences.
Once the choice-filling window closes, no changes are permitted.
Candidates who receive a seat allotment will be called for document verification. Keep the following originals and attested copies ready:
NEET MDS 2026 scorecard
BDS degree or provisional certificate
Internship completion certificate
Aadhaar card or valid government photo ID
Category or caste certificate (if applicable)
Karnataka domicile or nativity certificate (if applicable)
Recent passport-size photographs
Fee payment receipt from KEA registration
While Karnataka state quota counselling progresses through KEA, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is simultaneously conducting Round 1 counselling for 50% All India Quota seats, Deemed Universities, Central Universities, ESIC institutions and AFMC at mcc.nic.in. The MCC Round 1 seat allotment result is expected on August 26, 2026. Candidates eligible for both state and AIQ counselling should track both portals simultaneously and plan their reporting accordingly.
