The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has issued a fresh notification for Karnataka PGCET 2026 candidates, covering two distinct but equally critical processes: document verification for a specific set of postgraduate engineering and architecture branches, and an application correction window that applies more broadly across MBA, MCA, ME, M.Tech and M.Architecture streams.
This update lands at a pivotal stage of the PGCET 2026 admission cycle — right between the exam/result phase and the counselling phase — meaning both deadlines directly affect whether a candidate is allowed to proceed toward seat allotment at all.
According to the notice, document verification will be conducted on July 10, 2026, between 10:30 AM and 4:00 PM.
This particular verification round is not for all PGCET streams. It is restricted to candidates who applied under:
Bio-Technology
Chemical Engineering
Environmental Engineering
Polymer Science
Textile Technology
M.Architecture
Candidates outside these six streams should note that this specific July 10 slot does not apply to them, and should watch for separate stream-wise verification schedules from KEA.
KEA has laid out a clear checklist candidates must carry to the verification venue:
Mark sheets for all semesters/years of the qualifying degree
Printed copy of the KEA online application form
A valid, original photo ID card
Any other original documents supporting claims made in the online application
M.Architecture candidates only: original PGETA-2026 marks card — this is a mandatory, stream-specific requirement
Candidates are advised to carry originals as well as photocopies, since verification teams typically cross-check originals before returning them and retaining supporting copies.
KEA has been unambiguous on one point: only candidates who complete document verification will be assigned a rank, and that rank is computed based on marks secured in the qualifying degree examination. In effect, skipping this step doesn't just delay the process — it removes a candidate from rank consideration entirely, which knocks them out of counselling and seat allotment for that admission cycle. Document verification for these PG engineering and architecture streams is conducted in person at designated centres, not online, so physical attendance within the 10:30 AM–4:00 PM window is essential.
Separately, KEA has opened a form correction facility for candidates across a wider set of courses — MBA, MCA, ME, M.Tech, and M.Architecture for the 2026 admission year.
Opens: July 3, 2026
Closes: July 6, 2026
Mode: Online, through the official KEA candidate portal
This window gives applicants a short but important opportunity to fix errors in personal, academic, or category details entered during initial registration — corrections that can matter significantly once counselling and seat allotment begin, since mismatched data at that stage can cause avoidable complications.
| Process | Applicable Courses | Dates | Mode |
| Document Verification | Bio-Tech, Chemical Engg, Environmental Engg, Polymer Science, Textile Tech, M.Arch | July 10, 2026 (10:30 AM–4:00 PM) | In-person |
| Application Correction | MBA, MCA, ME, M.Tech, M.Architecture | July 3–6, 2026 | Online |
| Rank Issuance | All above streams | After successful verification | — |
With verification and correction dates now locked in, this sets up the immediate lead-in to Karnataka PGCET 2026 counselling. Both processes are described as crucial stages for participation in the counselling and seat allotment process, after which KEA is expected to move forward with rank publication, counselling notifications, option entry, and seat allotment rounds as per its official schedule. Candidates should keep monitoring kea.kar.nic.in and cetonline.karnataka.gov.in for the next set of dates.
