MHT CET CAP 2026 is the Centralized Admission Process conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, for allotting seats in First Year Undergraduate Technical Courses in Engineering and Technology (4 years) and Integrated Master of Engineering and Technology (5 years) programs across the state for the 2026-27 academic year. Admission is based on candidates' MHT CET 2026 scores and a state merit list, and the entire process — registration, document verification, grievance redressal, and seat allotment — is conducted online.

During document verification, candidates can opt for E-Scrutiny, where documents are verified online without visiting a centre, or Physical Scrutiny, which requires candidates to visit a facilitation centre for verification of documents. E-Scrutiny is generally faster and more convenient, while Physical Scrutiny may suit candidates who anticipate discrepancies needing in-person correction.
After the provisional merit list is published, candidates who spot errors — in category, scores, or personal details — can raise objections during the grievance window (July 16–18, 2026). Corrections are processed before the final merit list, due July 20, 2026, which will determine seat allotment priority in the subsequent CAP rounds.
Avoid the last-minute rush: Heavy last-day traffic can slow down or crash the server. Complete registration and document upload well before July 12.
Keep documents ready in advance: Have your MHT CET scorecard, 10th and 12th mark sheets, school leaving certificate, domicile certificate, and caste/validity certificates (if applicable) scanned and ready.
Double-check entries before submission: Errors in the provisional merit list can only be corrected during the short grievance window, so accuracy at registration saves time later.
Bookmark the official portal: Track cetcell.mahacet.org directly rather than relying on third-party sites for the CAP registration link and updates.
Understand the process before choice filling: CAP counselling for Maharashtra engineering and pharmacy colleges is conducted entirely online, typically across three to four rounds depending on the number of candidates participating.
