The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the NEET UG 2026 result on July 16, 2026, with over 11.21 lakh qualified candidates out of 20 lakh test takers. Following this, the Mizoram state-level merit list has been prepared based on NEET All India Rank (AIR), state rank, category-wise positions, and candidate domicile status according to Mizoram Government rules.
Unlike the all-India ranking, your state merit position in Mizoram's counselling list depends on your NEET score, category, and whether you meet the state domicile/residency requirements. This is critical: even candidates ranked high nationally might not appear in the same position in Mizoram's state quota merit list if they lack local residency certificates.
To verify your position in the Mizoram NEET UG 2026 merit list, you must meet these eligibility criteria:
Qualified NEET Examination: You must have appeared for and qualified the Re NEET UG 2026 examination conducted by NTA.
Minimum Qualifying Percentile: Your NEET score must meet the minimum qualifying percentile for your category—50% for General, 40% for SC/ST/OBC, and 45% for candidates with disabilities (PwD).
Age Requirement: You must be at least 17 years old as on the date of admission or as per the current NTA guidelines.
Educational Qualification: You must have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (or Biotechnology), and English as mandatory subjects.
Domicile Status (Critical for State Quota): For 85% Mizoram state quota seats, you must satisfy the state's domicile/local residency requirements. Generally, this means you or your parents must have resided in Mizoram for a specified period, typically validated through residential certificates issued by Mizoram Government authorities.
Reserved Category Candidates: If you belong to SC, ST, OBC, EWS, or PwD categories, you must possess valid certificates issued by the Mizoram Government, not certificates from other states.
The process is straightforward and entirely online:
Step 1: Access NTA's Official Website Visit neet.nta.nic.in using your computer or mobile browser. This is the only authentic source for NEET 2026 scorecards and official results.
Step 2: Enter Your Credentials On the login portal, enter your Application Number, Date of Birth (in DD/MM/YYYY format), and Security PIN provided during registration. Ensure you enter these details exactly as they appear in your admit card.
Step 3: Download Your NEET Scorecard Once logged in, download your official NEET UG 2026 scorecard in PDF format. This document contains your All India Rank (AIR), Category Rank (if applicable), NEET percentile, subject-wise scores (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), and qualifying status.
Step 4: Check Mizoram State Merit List Subsequently, visit the DHTE Mizoram official portal (dhte.mizoram.gov.in) or check the Department of Higher and Technical Education's counselling notification webpage for the state-wise merit list. Your state rank and merit position will be published here after the all-India quota counselling by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) concludes.
Understanding NEET UG 2026 Cutoff Scores for Mizoram Admission
Cutoff scores define the minimum NEET marks required for admission. In Mizoram, cutoff marks vary by category and are determined by factors including NEET question paper difficulty level, total number of qualified candidates, available MBBS and BDS seats, and seat reservation rules.
General Category: Typically 550-590 marks out of 720
OBC Category: Usually 500-540 marks
SC/ST Category: Approximately 420-460 marks
PwD (Persons with Disability): Generally 420-460 marks
Note: These are estimates. Official cutoff will be announced by DHTE Mizoram following state counselling completion.

Reserved seats for Other Backward Classes (OBC)
Reserved seats for EWS candidates
Reserved seats for persons with disabilities (PwD) – horizontal reservation across all categories
Unreserved seats for meritorious candidates
Important Note: Eligibility for reserved seats requires valid certificates issued by Mizoram Government.
Phase 1: Online Registration Visit dhte.mizoram.gov.in and click the NEET 2026 Counselling registration link. Create a unique username and strong password. Fill in your NEET roll number, name, contact details, and NEET score. Upload a scanned copy of your NEET scorecard. Pay the registration fee (amount to be announced by DHTE) through online payment gateway.
Phase 2: Document Verification After registration, report to the designated document verification center (usually Technical Wing Office, DHTE, Chaltlang, Aizawl) with all original documents and photocopies. DHTE officials verify your eligibility, domicile status, category certificates, and academic qualifications. Once verified, your candidacy is confirmed for seat allotment.
Phase 3: Choice Filling and Locking After successful document verification, log into the counselling portal again. You'll see a list of available colleges, courses, and seat categories matching your eligibility. Select your preferred colleges and courses in order of preference (if the portal allows ranking). The most crucial step: LOCK your choices. Once locked, changes cannot be made. This decision directly impacts which college and course you're eligible for in seat allotment.
Phase 4: Seat Allotment DHTE uses a computerized merit-based random allocation system. Your NEET rank, category, reserved/unreserved status, domicile eligibility, and locked choices determine seat allocation. Results are published online in the counselling portal.
Phase 5: Reporting at Allocated Institute After allotment, you have a fixed time window (typically 3-5 days) to report to your allotted college with all original documents and certificates for final admission formalities. Failing to report results in seat cancellation.
