Medical aspirants in Madhya Pradesh have a narrow, high-stakes window closing fast. The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Madhya Pradesh, under the Office of the Commissioner, Medical Education (CME), Bhopal, has opened Round 2 registration for MP NEET UG Counselling 2026 on the official portal, dme.mponline.gov.in. Unlike Round 1, this round introduces a critical rule change: from Round 2 onward, every participating candidate must re-fill and re-lock their choices, regardless of whether they filled preferences earlier. Per the DME notice dated 03 September 2026, candidates already registered in Round 1 need not register again — fresh registration is only for NEET UG 2026 qualified candidates who could not register during the First Round. With the fresh-registration window shutting on September 6, the coming hours are decisive for thousands chasing an MBBS or BDS seat.
Round 2 Fresh Registration / Edit (for candidates who missed Round 1): September 5–6, 2026 (up to 11:30 PM)
Already Registered in Round 1: No re-registration required
First-Round Resignation (extended): closed September 4, 2026, 6:00 PM
Revised Merit List / Eligible List & Vacancy Chart (tentative): September 7, 2026
Fresh Choice Filling & Locking: after vacancy publication (as per DME schedule)
Physical/Document Reporting Window (tentative): September 12–18, 2026
Official Portal: dme.mponline.gov.in
Note: The post-registration schedule is tentative and subject to DME corrigendum. Candidates must treat the official DME publication as final and verify each deadline on the portal before acting.
Step 1: Visit the official DME MP portal — dme.mponline.gov.in
Step 2: Click on "NEET UG Counselling 2026 – Round 2 Registration" (fresh candidates only)
Step 3: Enter your NEET UG 2026 details — roll number, application number, date of birth, and personal information
Step 4: Pay the counselling registration fee and the applicable security deposit online (net banking / credit card / debit card / UPI)
Step 5: Upload scanned documents — NEET UG 2026 scorecard, Class 10 & 12 marksheets, domicile certificate, category certificate (if applicable), and photo ID
Step 6: Complete e-verification or physical verification as required
Step 7: Proceed to fresh choice filling — add and re-lock your college/course preferences on the Round 2 choice-filling portal
Step 8: Download and save the confirmation for your records
Critical reminder: From Round 2, all candidates have to re-fill their choices on the MP NEET Round 2 choice-filling portal. Preferences from Round 1 do not carry over. If you edit choices after locking but fail to re-lock, the system reverts to your last locked list.
Register fresh (Sept 5–6): NEET UG 2026 qualified candidates who did NOT register in Round 1.
Do NOT register again: Candidates already registered in Round 1 — you are automatically eligible to participate in Round 2 and simply proceed to fresh choice filling after the revised eligible list is published.
This distinction matters because duplicate registration attempts can create profile conflicts and delay verification.
For the academic year 2026-27, a total of 5,725 MBBS seats are available across 35 medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh — 3,025 seats in 21 Government Medical Colleges and 2,700 seats in 14 Private Medical Colleges. Round 2 fills vacancies remaining after Round 1 allotment and reporting, plus the enhanced seat pool opened for upgradation.
Quota split:
85% State Quota seats in Government Medical Colleges — conducted online by DME MP for MP domicile candidates
15% All India Quota (AIQ) — handled separately by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC)
Private college seats — open to domicile and, for management quota, non-domicile candidates
MP NEET COUNSELLING 2026 – COUNSELLING ROUNDS STRUCTURE
DME MP conducts admissions through four sequential rounds so that unallotted candidates and those seeking upgradation get multiple opportunities based on merit and seat availability: Round 1, Round 2, a Mop-Up Round, and a Stray Vacancy Round. Seats are allotted strictly on NEET UG 2026 rank, category, locked choices, seat availability, and Madhya Pradesh reservation policy.
