Madhya Pradesh's medical admissions have moved into the second round. The Department of Public Health and Medical Education, Madhya Pradesh, has activated the MP NEET UG Round 2 counselling registration 2026 on the official portal, dme.mponline.gov.in, for admission to 85% state-quota MBBS and BDS seats. With fresh registration having closed on September 6, the live steps now are the revised merit and vacancy lists, followed by choice filling and locking.
The Round 2 registration window opened in early September, with the last date to register set for September 6, 2026. DME MP releases the revised merit list and eligible-candidates list on September 7, followed by the choice-filling and locking process. Choice filling runs from September 7 to 9, and the Round 2 seat allotment result is scheduled for September 11. After allotment, candidates report to their allotted colleges — the physical/document reporting window is tentatively September 12–18, 2026, and the post-registration schedule is subject to any DME corrigendum, so each deadline should be verified on the portal.
Students who did not take part in Round 1 counselling are eligible for Round 2 and could apply for the 85% state-quota MBBS and BDS seats. Per the DME notice, candidates already registered in Round 1 are automatically eligible and only need to complete fresh choice filling — fresh registration is exclusively for those who could not register earlier.
This is where candidates most often slip up. From Round 2 onward, all candidates must re-fill and re-lock their choices; Round 1 preferences are not carried forward, and only locked choices are considered for seat allotment. Anyone seeking an upgrade must still complete this fresh locking, or they will not be considered.
Registration (fresh candidates only): last date September 6, 2026
Revised merit list and eligible-candidates list: September 7, 2026
Choice filling and locking: September 7–9, 2026
Round 2 seat allotment result: September 11, 2026

There is a counselling registration fee plus a security deposit, payable online. Exact amounts are specified on the DME portal and in the Round 2 notification — confirm the current figures there before paying, and use only the official site.
DME Madhya Pradesh conducts counselling in four rounds — Round 1, Round 2, a Mop-Up Round and a Stray Vacancy Round. Round 2 is a key stage for both fresh entrants and those hoping to upgrade from a Round 1 seat.
For context on competition, Round 1 closing ranks showed that top government MBBS seats required NEET scores above 570, while private colleges offered admission at lower scores but higher fees.
The only official portal is dme.mponline.gov.in, managed by the Directorate of Medical Education, Madhya Pradesh, and MP Online Limited; candidates should avoid third-party links for registration or fee payment.
