NEET UG 2026 Fee Refund Last Date: The National Testing Agency has extended the NEET fee refund verification deadline for the third time, giving medical aspirants a fresh window till July 31, 2026 to view, confirm, correct or update their bank account details on the official portal.
The verification window was earlier scheduled to close on July 14, 2026, but has been extended to give more candidates an opportunity to confirm or correct their bank account details before the refund is processed.
The refund is being processed after the cancellation of the NEET UG 2026 examination held on May 3, 2026, in the wake of the paper leak row. The refund is being provided to candidates who appeared for the NEET UG 2026 examination conducted on May 3.

This is the question no competitor page answers properly — and the reason is a massive verification backlog.
On 6 July 2026, NTA informed through its official X account that 8,29,510 candidates had successfully corrected or updated their bank account details out of nearly 20 lakh eligible candidates — indicating that over 11 lakh candidates had still not completed the verification process.
That number then climbed. According to a public notice issued on July 7, 2026, around 10,28,223 candidates have completed the process, and the refund of examination fees has already begun for those applicants.
But roughly half the eligible pool is still pending. "However, a large number of students are yet to update/confirm their bank account details. Accordingly with a view to ensuring that every eligible candidate receives the refund, NTA has decided to once again extend the refund portal," the agency stated.
The root cause is structural, not laziness. NTA created a separate bank details update module because a large number of candidates — especially from rural areas — had registered through cyber cafés, Common Service Centres (CSCs) or coaching institutes, meaning the fee was paid from someone else's account rather than the student's own.
In plain terms: if you didn't pay from your own account, your refund is currently pointed at a stranger's bank account. That is why this step is non-negotiable.
NTA will refund the full NEET UG 2026 examination fee paid by eligible candidates for the cancelled examination held on 3 May 2026. No deductions will be made from the fee.
| Category | Refund Amount |
| General / Unreserved | ₹1,700 |
| OBC-NCL / General-EWS | ₹1,600 |
| SC / ST / PwD / Third Gender | ₹1,000 |
| NRI | ₹9,500 |
Refund processing charges and GST paid at time of registration will not be refunded. The refund covers the base examination fee only — payment gateway and bank transaction charges are excluded.
You are eligible if:
You registered for NEET UG 2026 and successfully paid the application fee ✅ Your application was accepted (not rejected) ✅ You were registered for the cancelled May 3, 2026 examination
You are NOT eligible if:
Your application form was rejected , Your payment failed or was never completed
Critical clarification most pages get wrong: Appearing in the June 21 Re-NEET does not cancel your refund. Candidates appearing for Re-NEET 2026 on June 21 do not need to pay any extra fee; original fee is carried forward automatically. You get the re-exam free and your original fee back.

NEET UG 2026 Application Number
Password or Date of Birth
Registered mobile number (OTP will land here — 2FA is mandatory)
Bank account holder's name (exactly as per bank records)
Bank account number
IFSC code
Scanned cancelled cheque / passbook first page (JPG/PDF)
This is where lakhs of candidates are losing money. Avoid every one:
Wrong IFSC code — one wrong character = failed transaction, no auto-retry
Inactive / dormant account — the account must be active
Account in a friend's or cyber café owner's name — will be rejected
Beneficiary name mismatch — must match bank records letter-for-letter, not your NEET form
Leaving "No Refund" selected — many candidates ticked this by accident
Assuming confirmation = credited — it isn't; NTA processes in phases
Logging in on July 31 at 11:45 PM — server load and OTP delays peak at deadline. Do it today.
The account must be active and stand in the candidate's name, a parent's name, or be a joint account that includes the candidate.
NTA will not be responsible if the refund is credited to a wrong account due to incorrect entries.
Allowed: Your account | Fathe's/Mother's account | Joint account with your name Not allowed: Sibling's, friend's, coaching centre's, cyber café's account
This is a zero-competition detail most portals skip entirely.
When you log in, your previously submitted details appear. You can tick the checkbox to confirm if the details are 100% correct, enter fresh details if they are wrong or were never submitted, or select "No Refund" — and if you earlier chose "No Refund" but now want the money, you can safely revise that option.
So if you clicked "No Refund" in the rush during the admit card window in June, log in before July 31 and switch it back.
This is the single most-searched refund question — and the honest answer matters more than a fake date.
NTA has NOT announced a fixed refund credit date. The refund is processed after bank verification and may be released in phases.
What we know for certain:
The refund of examination fees has already begun for those applicants who completed verification in the earlier windows
Refunds are moving in batches, not a single mass credit
NTA also confirmed that the refund process has already started for verified candidates
Bottom line: Verification is the trigger. The earlier you verify, the earlier your batch clears. Candidates should track neet.nta.nic.in for official status updates rather than trusting Telegram "credit date" rumours.
NTA and intelligence agencies have flagged a rise in fraudulent activity targeting NEET 2026 candidates. Fake refund portals and unofficial Telegram channels are actively circulating misleading links, claiming to process NEET refunds. Submitting bank details on any unofficial platform could result in financial fraud.
NTA has warned candidates against fake refund portals; only neet.nta.nic.in is the authorised site.
Non-negotiable safety rules:
Never share your OTP with anyone — NTA will never call you for it
Never pay a "processing fee" to receive your refund — the refund is free
Never enter bank details on a WhatsApp/Telegram-forwarded link
Only neet.nta.nic.in. Nothing else.
NEET UG 2026 was originally held on May 3, 2026, when more than 22 lakh aspirants appeared. Soon after, allegations of a question-paper leak surfaced, and NTA cancelled the NEET UG 2026 exam completely and, along with the central government, decided to conduct a Re-NEET.
With the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) launching a formal probe into the matter, the NTA has now announced the NEET UG 2026 re-examination date and initiated a massive refund process for affected students.
The Re-NEET UG 2026 was successfully conducted on June 21, 2026, for around 20 lakh candidates, and the government committed to refunding the full examination fee to everyone who had registered — with no additional fee charged for the re-exam.
Your refund isn't the only clock running.
The Re NEET 2026 NTA OMR sheet is released on July 13, 2026. Candidates can challenge the responses recorded in the OMR sheet till July 15, 2026.
According to ANI report, an NTA official said that the re-NEET result 2026 will be declared by July 20. The final answer key, scorecard, qualifying cutoff and toppers list are all expected around the same window.
After the results are announced, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will announce the NEET UG 2026 All India Quota (AIQ) counselling schedule, while state quota counselling will be conducted separately by the respective state counselling authorities.
Translation for aspirants: Between July 15 (OMR challenge close), July 20 (result) and July 31 (refund) — the portal will be under heavy load all month. Finish your refund verification now, before result-day traffic makes login a nightmare.
