The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially launched the NEET UG 2026 application form on February 8, 2026. This year, the NTA has introduced a massive change: the Mandatory Live Photo Capture. Gone are the days of simply uploading a gallery image; students must now take a real-time photo that matches their Aadhaar card biometrics.
Critical Deadline: The online application window is open from February 8 to March 8, 2026 (9:00 PM). Missing the photo guidelines could lead to immediate disqualification.

Unlike previous years, the NEET 2026 application process requires a real-time image to prevent impersonation. Here is the "brain-logic" breakdown of the new system:
Live Capture vs. Upload: You cannot use old photos. The system uses your webcam or smartphone camera to capture your face while you fill out the form.
Aadhaar Face Match: The NTA portal will instantly cross-verify your live image with the photo on your Aadhaar Card.
Discrepancy Protocol: If your live photo doesn't match your Aadhaar (due to age or appearance changes), you must upload a valid supporting certificate to prove your identityHow to Take Live Photo for NEET Form (Step-by-Step)
Device Choice: Use a laptop with a high-res webcam or a smartphone with a stable internet connection.
The "White Background" Rule: Stand against a plain, white background. Any shadows or objects in the background will trigger an error.
Lighting: Ensure bright, even lighting on your face. Avoid glares, especially if you wear spectacles (though NTA recommends removing them for the capture).
Pose: Maintain a neutral expression. Your face must cover 80% of the frame, and both ears must be visible.
