NEET UG 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has activated the NEET UG 2026 OMR sheet and recorded responses on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in, giving candidates who appeared in the re-examination a chance to verify — and challenge — how the scanning system read their answers. The NEET UG 2026 recorded response facility went live following the NTA public notice dated July 13, and a scanned copy of each candidate's OMR answer sheet has also been sent to their registered email ID.
The NEET UG 2026 re-exam was conducted on June 21, 2026, from 2 PM to 5:15 PM. It was held after the original May 3 examination was cancelled — the development at the centre of the ongoing NEET exam row — making this recorded-response check a closely watched step ahead of the result. The provisional answer key was released on June 25, and the NTA is currently reviewing roughly 10,000 objections filed against it before finalising the result.
The OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) sheet is the physical sheet on which candidates darkened bubbles against each question on exam day. The recorded response is what NTA's scanner actually captured from that sheet. Displaying both side by side lets candidates confirm the scanner read every answer correctly — a critical safeguard, since the result is calculated on the scanned data, not the paper original.
The NEET UG 2026 OMR sheet objection window is open from July 13 to July 15, 2026, and closes at 11 AM on July 15. Candidates are advised not to wait until the deadline, as payment and submission must both be completed before the window shuts. Importantly, only recorded OMR responses can be challenged at this stage — the answer key challenge window has already concluded, and no further answer-key objections will be entertained.
Follow these steps to raise an objection against your NEET UG 2026 recorded response:
Step 1: Visit neet.nta.nic.in and log in with your application number and password.
Step 2: Complete OTP-based verification (Two-Factor Authentication).
Step 3: Click on "View/Challenge OMR Sheet & Recorded Responses."
Step 4: Compare your marked answers with the responses captured by the scanner.
Step 5: For any mismatch, select the question and tick the option you claim to have marked.
Step 6: Pay ₹200 per challenge via Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card or UPI.
Step 7: Submit the challenge and download the acknowledgement slip for your records.
A processing fee of ₹200 per challenged response is payable online. As per the official notification, this amount is refunded only if the candidate's challenge is upheld and a genuine scanning error is established. No challenge is accepted without payment or after the deadline.
Candidates should review the scanned OMR sheet carefully before raising an objection. Only fully darkened bubbles marked with a blue or black ballpoint pen are treated as valid. Marking more than one option for a question makes that response invalid and may attract negative marking. Candidates are also cautioned not to raise a challenge simply because they disagree with an answer key — this facility is strictly for a mismatch between the physical OMR marking and the recorded response.
This is the query most candidates are searching right after checking their OMR sheet. The NTA is expected to declare the Re NEET UG 2026 result on neet.nta.nic.in by July 20, 2026, once the OMR challenges are processed and the final answer key is published. The result will be finalised after all objections are reviewed against the original OMR records, with any valid challenge corrected before the score is locked. Candidates will download the scorecard using their application number and password/date of birth.
For assistance with the NEET UG 2026 OMR sheet or recorded response, candidates can contact the NTA helpline at 011-40759000 / 011-69227700 or email neetug2026@nta.ac.in. Separately, NTA has extended the NEET 2026 fee-refund facility (for submitting bank account details) till July 14.
