The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a fresh update on the NEET UG 2026 re-exam result, confirming that the much-awaited scores will be declared "at the earliest" as the agency races to finalise the answer key process. With the objection window for the provisional answer key closing on June 28, candidates across the country are now watching closely for the next official notice on neet.nta.nic.in.
The NEET UG 2026 re-examination was conducted on June 21, with nearly 20 lakh students appearing for the test nationwide. This re-exam became necessary after irregularities or disruptions prompted NTA to offer a fresh attempt to affected candidates, making the result one of the most closely tracked updates in this year's medical entrance exam cycle.
NTA released the provisional answer key for the NEET UG 2026 re-exam on June 25, along with the question papers for all four sets, directly on its official website. Candidates were given until June 28 to raise objections against any answer they believed was incorrect.
In an unusual move aimed at speeding up the process, NTA opened the challenge window for the answer key even while OMR sheet scanning was still ongoing. The agency explained this decision was made to give every candidate an early, transparent chance to review the keys without waiting for the entire technical process to wrap up.
NTA has not announced an exact date yet, but its latest statement confirms that the agency is actively finalising the result and intends to declare it "at the earliest." This suggests that once the expert panel completes its review of the objections — running parallel to the OMR scanning — both the final answer key and the result could be released in quick succession, rather than as two separate, widely spaced announcements.
Candidates are advised to keep checking the official NTA website regularly, since the agency typically issues short-notice announcements rather than long advance timelines for result declarations.
Once declared, the result will be available on:
neet.nta.nic.in (official NTA NEET website)
nta.ac.in (NTA main portal)
Candidates should keep their application number and date of birth handy, as these are typically required to log in and view scorecards.
