The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a fresh reminder to all medical aspirants: this is the final chance to confirm or update your bank account details to receive the NEET UG 2026 fee refund. The last date is July 7, 2026, up to 11:50 PM, and every correction must be made only on the official portal, neet.nta.nic.in. Candidates who have not yet verified or corrected their banking information should finish the process before the deadline — after 11:50 PM on July 7, no further changes will be accepted.
As per the latest update, the refund has already begun for candidates who have successfully confirmed their details, and over 8,29,510 candidates have updated or verified their banking information so far. Anyone whose account number, IFSC code or holder name is incorrect, incomplete or unverified may not receive the money on time.
Here's the background most quick pages skip. NEET UG 2026 was originally held on May 3, 2026, when more than 22 lakh aspirants appeared. Soon after, allegations of a question-paper leak surfaced, and NTA cancelled the NEET UG 2026 exam completely and, along with the central government, decided to conduct a Re-NEET. The Re-NEET UG 2026 was successfully conducted on June 21, 2026, for around 20 lakh candidates, and the government committed to refunding the full examination fee to everyone who had registered — with no additional fee charged for the re-exam. Candidates appearing for the NEET UG 2026 re-exam are not required to pay any extra examination fee.
To make this refund possible, NTA created a separate bank details update module because a large number of candidates — especially from rural areas — had registered through cyber cafés, Common Service Centres (CSCs) or coaching institutes, meaning the fee was paid from someone else's account rather than the student's own. That's why you must enter the account where you want the refund credited.
Final deadline: July 7, 2026
Cut-off time: 11:50 PM (IST)
Portal: neet.nta.nic.in
The correction window was reopened after candidates reported incorrect account numbers and IFSC codes, some missed the earlier window while focusing on their admit cards, and a few who had chosen "No Refund" wanted to change their minds. NTA has stressed that once you complete authentication and submit, the information will be treated as final, so verify every detail carefully before confirming.
Follow these steps on the official portal:
Visit neet.nta.nic.in
Click the link "Final Opportunity to Confirm/Update Bank Account Details for NEET (UG) 2026 Fee Refund" on the homepage
Log in using your NEET UG 2026 application number and password (or date of birth)
Complete the two-factor authentication
Open the "Bank Account Details Confirmation/Updation" section

Optionally upload a cancelled cheque or passbook copy for accuracy
Submit the details and download the confirmation page
The refund equals the full examination fee paid at registration — no deductions are made.
| Category | Refund Amount |
| General | ₹1,700 |
| OBC / EWS | ₹1,600 |
| SC / ST / PwD / Third Gender | ₹1,000 |
| NRI | ₹9,500 |
General category candidates paid ₹1,700, OBC/EWS ₹1,600, SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender ₹1,000, and NRI candidates ₹9,500.
When you log in, your previously submitted details appear. You can tick the checkbox to confirm if the details are 100% correct, enter fresh details if they are wrong or were never submitted, or select "No Refund" — and if you earlier chose "No Refund" but now want the money, you can safely revise that option.
The account must be active and stand in the candidate's name, a parent's name, or be a joint account that includes the candidate. NTA will not be responsible if the refund is credited to a wrong account due to incorrect entries.
This is the single most-searched question — and the honest answer is: NTA has not announced a fixed refund credit date yet. The refund is being processed after candidates confirm their bank details and may be released in phases. Some reports indicate the amount could be credited within a few working days of the window closing, but treat only the official NTA notice as final. Keep checking neet.nta.nic.in for the refund status facility.
NTA will never ask for any OTP, password or sensitive financial information via phone call, SMS or email. Use only neet.nta.nic.in — ignore third-party links, forwarded messages or "refund helper" sites. Never share your login credentials or OTP with anyone.
