NHSRCL Recruitment 2026: The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) — the government company building India's first bullet train corridor between Mumbai and Ahmedabad — has thrown open applications for 237 Technician posts across 15 technical trades. The online application window opened on July 7, 2026, and closes on August 5, 2026. Candidates must apply through the official website, nhsrcl.in.
But before you rush to the apply link, there is one condition that disqualifies the overwhelming majority of ITI and diploma holders reading this — and most coverage of this notification has buried it. We'll get to that in the eligibility section.
The vacancies fall under Vacancy Notice Nos. 35/2026 to 49/2026 and span the Civil/Track, Electrical, Signalling & Telecom, and Rolling Stock domains. Appointment is on an Absorption Basis in the NE-2 IDA pay level.
| Event | Date |
| Notification released | July 2026 |
| Online application starts | July 7, 2026 |
| Last date to apply online | August 5, 2026 |
| Eligibility & experience cut-off date | June 30, 2026 |
| CBT exam date | To be announced on nhsrcl.in |
Note: The CBT for all 15 notified posts is scheduled on the same day and at the same time. This is why a candidate may apply against only one Vacancy Notice number from 35/2026 to 49/2026. Choose your trade carefully — there is no second attempt within this cycle.
| Post / Trade | Vacancies |
| Technician – Electrical | 77 |
| Technician – Signalling & Telecom | 63 |
| Technician – Civil/Track (Fitter) | 18 |
| Technician – Civil/Track (Mechanic) | 16 |
| Technician – Rolling Stock (Electrician) | 13 |

| Civil/Track – Draftsman, Surveyor, Electrician, Welder, Plumber, Painter, Machinist | Remaining |
| Rolling Stock – Welder, RAC Technician | Remaining |
| Total | 237 |
Technician (Electrical) and Technician (Signalling & Telecom) together account for 140 of the 237 posts — nearly 59% of the entire drive. If your trade certificate falls in either discipline, this is statistically the strongest bet on the board.
Eligibility has two layers, and clearing the first one is not enough.
Layer 1 — Educational Qualification (any one of the following):
Matriculation / SSLC from a recognised board + ITI certificate in the relevant trade from an NCVT/SCVT-recognised institution, OR
Matriculation / SSLC + apprenticeship in the relevant trade, OR
A three-year diploma in the relevant engineering discipline
Layer 2 — The Service Condition (this is the disqualifier):
Applicants must have a minimum of two years of post-qualification experience in the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) departments of:
Indian Railways, or
Government-owned or government-operated Railways, or
Metro Rail, or
Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS)
In plain terms: NHSRCL Technician Recruitment 2026 is a lateral-entry, absorption-basis drive for people already inside the railway ecosystem. If you are a fresh ITI graduate, a private-sector technician, or a diploma holder with no railway/metro/RRTS service record, you are not eligible — regardless of your marks or trade certification.
A valid experience or competency certificate must be uploaded with the application. All eligibility, experience, and age criteria are calculated as on June 30, 2026 — not as on the closing date. Calculate accordingly.
Age limit: Maximum 35 years. Age relaxation applies as per government rules.
Selected candidates are appointed on an Absorption Basis in the NE-2 IDA Pay Scale of ₹35,000 – ₹1,10,000, along with allowances and benefits as per NHSRCL rules. All 15 trade categories carry the same pay level — no trade offers a higher starting scale than another.
Posting: Anywhere across NHSRCL or the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) Project locations. This is an all-India posting; it is not tied to a home state, division, or zone.
Probation: Selected candidates serve a one-year probation period.
This is the clause that changes the risk calculus of the offer, and it deserves its own heading.
As per the vacancy notice, selected candidates are required to execute a surety bond of ₹3,00,000, undertaking to serve NHSRCL for a minimum of four years.
Further, if the Corporation imparts training to the candidate, an additional bond covering the cost of that training applies, extending the minimum service obligation to six years.
If you are a serving Indian Railways or Metro employee weighing absorption into NHSRCL, model this against your current pay progression, seniority, and pension position before you submit. Absorption is not a deputation — it is a permanent transfer of employment. Once absorbed, your lien on the parent organisation typically ends.
Candidates are strongly advised to verify the exact bond wording and its financial implications in the official notification PDF at nhsrcl.in before applying.
Selection is a three-stage, must-clear-each-stage process:
Computer-Based Test (CBT) — evaluates trade-specific technical knowledge and general awareness. Conducted for all 15 posts on the same date and time slot.
Document Verification (DV) — educational certificates, ITI/diploma, and the service/competency certificate from the parent railway, metro, or RRTS organisation.
Medical Examination — candidates must meet the B-1 (Bee-One) medical fitness standard, the vision and physical standard applied to safety-critical railway operating and maintenance categories.
Candidates who clear all three stages are appointed, subject to the one-year probation and the surety bond.
The CBT exam date and admit card will be announced on the official website. Bookmark the NHSRCL Careers page.

Rejection triggers: incomplete applications, missing supporting documents, applying against more than one vacancy number, or a mismatch between the declared and certified experience.

| Parameter | NHSRCL Technician 2026 | RRB Technician CEN 02/2026 |
| Vacancies | 237 | ~6,557 |
| Open to freshers? | No | Yes |
| Prerequisite | 2 yrs O&M service in Railways/Metro/RRTS | ITI / Diploma, no service needed |
| Basis | Absorption | Direct recruitment |
| Pay | ₹35,000–1,10,000 (IDA, NE-2) | 7th CPC Level 2 / Level 5 |
| Applicant pool | Narrow (serving staff only) | Very large (lakhs) |
| Bond | ₹3,00,000 / 4 years | Not applicable |
The verdict: If you are a fresher or an ITI holder without railway service, NHSRCL is closed to you — apply to RRB Technician CEN 02/2026 instead. If you are already serving in railway, metro, or RRTS O&M, NHSRCL offers a dramatically smaller applicant pool and a higher pay band, at the cost of a four-to-six-year service lock-in.
NHSRCL is the special purpose vehicle executing the 508-km Mumbai–Ahmedabad High Speed Rail corridor, India's first bullet train project, built on Japanese Shinkansen technology. As the corridor moves from civil construction toward systems installation, testing, and eventual operations, the Corporation is building out its operations and maintenance cadre — and this Technician drive, restricted to experienced railway hands, is a direct signal of that transition.
For the 237 people who make it, this is a chance to be part of the first operating crew of a high-speed rail system in India.
