The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has extended the last date for payment of the academic fee for Admissions 2026 under Seat Allotment Round 2. The NIFT counselling fee payment 2026 window, which was earlier scheduled to close on July 9, 2026, will now remain open until July 10, 2026, up to 4:00 PM.
The extension gives candidates one additional day to submit their willingness, pay the admission fee and lock their allotted seat. All candidates who have been allotted a seat in NIFT Seat Allotment Round 2 must complete the payment and download the NIFT Provisional Allotment Letter from the official counselling portal, nift.admissions.nic.in.
Candidates who fail to pay the fee within the revised deadline will lose their allotted seat. As per the NIFT counselling guidelines, the vacated seat will be offered to the next eligible candidate in the merit order.
Earlier deadline: July 9, 2026 Revised deadline: July 10, 2026, 4:00 PM Applies to: Candidates allotted a seat in NIFT Seat Allotment Round 2 (UG, UG Lateral and PG programmes) Portal: nift.admissions.nic.in Action required: Willingness submission + academic fee payment + provisional allotment letter download
Only the closing time of the willingness and fee payment window has been revised. No other event in the NIFT counselling 2026 schedule has been altered by this notice.
Check out the NIFT Seat Allotment Round 2 timeline below.
Event: Seat Allotment Round 2 — Date / Timeline Correction in Application Form — July 03, 2026 to July 03, 2026 (5:00 PM) Document Verification (for candidates who made corrections) — July 03, 2026 to July 03, 2026 (8:00 PM) Choice Filling / Modification — July 03, 2026 to July 05, 2026 (12:00 Midnight) Seat Allotment Result — July 07, 2026 Willingness Submission and Admission Fee Payment (Closing Today) — July 07, 2026 to July 10, 2026 (4:00 PM)
Candidates are advised to complete the payment well before 4:00 PM to avoid last-minute gateway congestion. A payment initiated but not confirmed before the cut-off time may not be treated as a valid payment.
Freeze: The candidate accepts the allotted seat as final. No further upgrade will be considered, and the candidate exits the counselling process after fee payment.
Float: The candidate accepts the allotted seat but remains in the pool for a higher-preference campus or programme in the subsequent round.
Slide: Applicable to B.Des candidates. The candidate accepts the allotted seat but remains eligible for a higher-preference programme within the same campus in the next round.
The willingness option must be selected before the fee is paid. Once submitted, the option cannot be altered for that round.
If the academic fee is not paid by July 10, 2026, 4:00 PM:
The provisional seat allotted in Round 2 stands cancelled.
The seat is released to the next eligible candidate as per the merit rank.
The candidate may be treated as having forfeited the allotment for the subsequent regular round, as per the counselling guidelines.
No request for revival of a cancelled seat is entertained after the deadline lapses.
Candidates are therefore strongly advised to treat the extension as a final opportunity rather than an invitation to delay.
After successful payment, candidates must download the NIFT Provisional Allotment Letter from nift.admissions.nic.in. The letter typically carries:
Candidate name, application number and roll number
NIFT Common Merit Rank (CMR) and category
Allotted campus and allotted programme
Willingness option exercised
Fee payment status and transaction reference
Reporting instructions and document checklist
The provisional allotment letter is a mandatory document at the time of physical reporting and document verification at the allotted campus. Candidates should retain both a soft copy and multiple printed copies.
Once the Round 2 fee payment window closes, NIFT will process the seats surrendered or vacated by non-paying candidates and carry them forward to the next regular round of seat allotment. Candidates who selected Float or Slide will automatically be considered for an upgrade. Candidates who selected Freeze will retain their current allotment.
A Spot Round is conducted at the end of the regular rounds to fill any seats that remain vacant. Candidates should monitor nift.admissions.nic.in for the official Round 3 schedule, the withdrawal window and Spot Round registration details, as counselling dates are subject to revision by the institute.
Pay the academic fee only through the official portal, nift.admissions.nic.in. NIFT does not authorise any third-party agent or intermediary to collect counselling fees.
Do not close the browser or refresh the page while the payment is being processed.
Verify the fee amount and category applicable to you on the official notice before paying, as fee structures differ across campuses and for NRI/OCI/Foreign National candidates.
Keep the transaction ID, bank reference number and fee receipt safe until admission is confirmed at the campus.
Cross-check every detail on the provisional allotment letter against the official notification. Report any discrepancy to the NIFT helpdesk immediately.
