Students preparing to apply should understand how MeriPehchaan works, which documents are required, the prescribed file sizes and the precautions to follow while submitting the form. Candidates can also check the JEE Main 2027 registration dates and Session 1 schedule before proceeding.
MeriPehchaan is a National Single Sign-On platform developed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) and National e-Governance Division (NeGD).
Launched on July 4, 2022, the platform enables users to access multiple integrated government services through a single set of login credentials. It integrates identity providers such as JanParichay, DigiLocker and e-Pramaan.
For JEE Main 2027, MeriPehchaan has been enabled to facilitate application registration. However, logging in through MeriPehchaan does not complete the examination application. Candidates must still enter their details, upload the prescribed documents, pay the application fee and save the confirmation page.
Students can also review the JEE Main eligibility criteria to understand the requirements applicable to their examination and intended programme.
Candidates should follow the instructions provided in the JEE Main 2027 Information Bulletin and on the official application portal.
Visit the official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Open the JEE Main 2027 Session 1 application link and follow the registration instructions displayed on the portal.
Read the Information Bulletin before proceeding, particularly the eligibility conditions, document specifications and application guidelines. Keep the required personal and academic details ready to avoid mistakes during registration.
Register using the available registration or single sign-on facility. Enter the required personal and contact details and follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
After successful registration, a system-generated application number will be provided. Candidates must save this number because it will be required for subsequent application steps and future correspondence.
Applicants must also create a password and keep it secure for future logins. Do not share the password with anyone.
For further guidance, candidates can refer to the JEE Main 2027 application form guide.
Log in using the application number and password or the login method specified by the portal.
Complete the application form by entering the required details, including:
Personal information
Educational qualifications
Examination paper selection
Preferred examination cities
Other information requested in the form
Review every entry carefully before proceeding to document uploads. Ensure that the details entered in the application form are accurate and consistent with the supporting documents.
Candidates must capture a live photograph during the application process. They must also upload a scanned passport-size photograph, signature and other applicable documents in the prescribed formats.
The live photograph should be captured with proper lighting against a white background. Approximately 80% of the face, including the ears, should be visible, and candidates must not wear a mask.
If a webcam is unavailable, candidates can follow the portal's instructions to use a mobile device or tablet to capture the photograph through the QR code facility, where available.
Before uploading files, candidates should check the prescribed formats and file sizes. They can also review the documents required for JEE Main 2027 registration to prepare the necessary records in advance.
After completing the application form, pay the prescribed examination fee using an available payment method, such as:
Net banking
Debit card
Credit card
UPI
Applicable processing charges and GST may be additional. Candidates should retain the payment details for future reference.
The final amount payable should be checked on the official application portal. Applicants should ensure that the payment is successful before leaving the website.
After successful fee payment, download and save the JEE Main 2027 application confirmation page.
The application is considered successfully submitted only after the prescribed fee has been received. Candidates should keep the confirmation page, application number and payment receipt safely for future reference.
Candidates should prepare the following documents before starting the application process.
| Document | Prescribed format and file size |
| Live photograph | Captured during the application process |
| Scanned passport-size photograph | JPG/JPEG, 10 KB to 200 KB |

| Non-Indian passport for foreign nationals, including OCI candidates | PDF, 50 KB to 300 KB |
Candidates should ensure that every uploaded file is clear, legible and within the prescribed size limits.
The scanned photograph must be recent, in colour and taken against a white background. The face, including the ears, should be clearly visible without a mask.
Applicants should follow the official Information Bulletin for the final document requirements and upload specifications. For another checklist, refer to documents required to apply for JEE Main.
According to the JEE Main 2027 Information Bulletin, MeriPehchaan supports registration using basic details such as name, date of birth and mobile number. Users may also complete eKYC verification through Aadhaar, PAN, Driving Licence or APAAR, subject to the applicable process.
Candidates should follow the identity-verification instructions displayed on the official portal and in the Information Bulletin. They should ensure that their details are accurate and consistent with their supporting documents.
NTA also advises candidates to keep their Aadhaar details updated, including their recent photograph, name, date of birth, gender and address, in accordance with applicable UIDAI guidelines.
Candidates should not assume that an identity document or a DigiLocker record automatically replaces every document upload requirement. The application portal will specify the accepted verification and submission methods.
For additional information, read the JEE Main 2027 registration and Aadhaar guidelines.
Candidates should keep the following instructions in mind while filling out the application form:
Submit the application online through the official JEE Main website only.
Read the Information Bulletin carefully before registration.
Submit only one application form, as multiple applications are not permitted.
Upload your own photograph, signature and applicable certificates.
Save the application number and password for future logins.
Do not share your password with anyone.
Log out after completing each session to prevent unauthorised access.
Download and retain the confirmation page after successful fee payment.
For candidates with disabilities, the uploaded UDID or disability certificate may be verified by NTA with the issuing authority. Any permitted correction related to verification must be made during the correction window announced by NTA. Claims may not be accepted after the window closes.
NTA will not accept correction requests sent by post, fax, WhatsApp, email or by hand. Candidates must use the official correction facility during the notified period for changes permitted by the agency.
If the confirmation page does not appear after fee payment, candidates should first check the payment status with their bank or payment gateway.
If the payment failed: Complete a fresh payment before the deadline.
If the payment was successful: Contact the NTA helpline for assistance with generating the confirmation page.
If a duplicate payment occurred: NTA will handle the refund after fee reconciliation under the applicable procedure.
Candidates should not assume that their application has been submitted successfully until the payment status is confirmed and the confirmation page is available.
