Six days. That is how long Rajasthan SET 2026 candidates have between today and one of the most significant eligibility examinations of their teaching careers. The University of Kota released the Rajasthan State Eligibility Test (SET) Admit Card 2026 on 7 September 2026, and the exam is locked in for 13 September 2026 — this Sunday — from 11 AM to 2 PM at designated centres across Rajasthan.
If you registered for the Rajasthan SET 2026 and have not yet downloaded your hall ticket, stop whatever you are doing and get it now. Without a printed hard copy of the admit card in your hand at the exam gate, you will not be allowed inside — no exceptions, no digital alternatives.
Here is everything you need: both download routes, step-by-step instructions, what your admit card should show, the exam pattern, what changed this year, and why the SET certificate is worth far more than a single exam slot.
Unlike most state exams that offer a single download portal, the Rajasthan SET 2026 admit card is accessible through two separate official channels. Use whichever you find more convenient — both lead to the same hall ticket.
Open recruitment.rajasthan.gov.in on your browser.
On the homepage, locate and click the admit card link for SET Recruitment 2026.
Enter your Application Number, Date of Birth, and the Captcha code in the fields provided.
Click Submit — your Rajasthan SET Admit Card 2026 will appear on screen.
Download the PDF and print at least two clear copies immediately.
Visit sso.rajasthan.gov.in.
Log in using your SSO ID and Password.
Find and open the Rajasthan SET 2026 Admit Card link from your dashboard.
Your hall ticket will load on screen — download and print it.
Both portals are live and active from today. If one portal is slow or facing heavy traffic, switch to the other. Save the PDF to your device as backup — but remember, only the physical printout counts on exam day.
Once downloaded, do not assume the document is correct and file it away. Read every line on your hall ticket before the exam and confirm:
Your full name matches your registered application exactly. Your roll number is clearly printed. The exam centre name and full address are correct and legible. The reporting time is mentioned and noted — arrive at least 30 minutes early. Your subject code matches the subject you registered for. Your photograph and signature are clearly visible. The exam date reads 13 September 2026 and the timing shows 11 AM to 2 PM.
If any detail is wrong, missing, or unclear — particularly your name spelling, subject code, or exam centre — contact the University of Kota examination authority immediately. Do not wait until exam morning to raise a discrepancy. You have six days and that is enough time to get errors corrected if you act today.
Carry these without fail: your printed hard copy of the Rajasthan SET 2026 admit card (minimum one printout, ideally two) and one original valid government-issued photo ID — Aadhaar card, PAN card, Voter ID, Passport, or Driving Licence.
Leave these behind: your mobile phone or any other electronic device, as exam centres follow strict anti-malpractice protocols. And critically — do not show up with only a digital version of your admit card on your phone screen. The University of Kota has clearly stated that digital copies are strictly prohibited. A phone screen at the gate means you are turned away, period.
This is where the Rajasthan SET offers a significant psychological advantage over exams like UGC NET — there is absolutely no negative marking. Every unanswered question costs you nothing. Every correct answer earns you two marks. The only outcome that doesn't help you is leaving the hall early.
The exam runs for three hours — 11 AM to 2 PM — in a single unbroken session, in offline OMR-based mode. Two papers are conducted within this window:
Paper I — Common for all candidates across all subjects. Contains 50 MCQ questions carrying a total of 100 marks. Tests teaching and research aptitude, reasoning, comprehension, general awareness and communication skills.
Paper II — Subject-specific. Contains 100 MCQ questions carrying a total of 200 marks. Tests depth of knowledge in the candidate's registered subject from the available 37 subjects.
Both papers combined: 150 questions, 300 total marks, 3 hours, no negative marking.
The question paper is set in both English and Hindi. All questions are MCQ format with a single correct option.
Here is the detail that competitors' basic admit card stories miss entirely and that directly matters to a subset of candidates.
The University of Kota has added two new subjects to the Rajasthan SET 2026 roster, expanding the examination from 35 subjects to 37 subjects for the first time. The two additions are:
Mass Communication and Journalism — reflecting the growing demand for qualified faculty in media and communication programmes at Rajasthan universities.
Sanskrit Traditional Subjects — recognising the continued academic importance of classical language scholarship within Rajasthan's higher education framework.
If you registered for either of these two new subjects, your admit card is included in this release. Candidates in these subjects should double-check their subject code on the downloaded hall ticket to confirm it matches their registration.
The career value of clearing this exam extends far beyond the immediate test date. The Rajasthan SET qualification comes with lifetime validity — unlike some state eligibility tests that impose a time limit on certificate use. Once you clear it, the certificate does not expire.
The certificate is a mandatory eligibility criterion for appointment to the post of Assistant Professor at universities, colleges and other higher education institutions across Rajasthan. Universities and recruitment agencies across the state use it as the primary eligibility filter during faculty hiring rounds.
One important boundary: the certificate is state-specific. A Rajasthan SET certificate qualifies you for Assistant Professor recruitment within Rajasthan. For national-level eligibility, candidates also appear for UGC NET separately. Many candidates hold both qualifications — SET for state-level applications and NET for central university and national-level opportunities.
