The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have revised the tentative RRB Group D exam date 2026 for CEN 09/2025, and the countdown is now down to days. The Computer-Based Test (CBT 1) for Level 1 posts will be held across 16 days between August 3 and August 25, 2026. With the first shift barely 72 hours away, candidates who have applied under CEN 09/2025 need to lock in three things immediately: their exam city slip, their admit card window, and their Aadhaar status on the UIDAI portal.
Candidates can check the revised RRB Group D 2026 schedule on the official website of their respective Railway Recruitment Board.
| Exam | Exam Dates |
| RRB Group D CBT 1 (CEN 09/2025) | August 3, 4, 5, 6, 2026 |
| RRB Group D CBT 1 (CEN 09/2025) | August 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 2026 |
| RRB Group D CBT 1 (CEN 09/2025) | August 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 2026 |
| RRB Group D CBT 1 (CEN 09/2025) | August 25, 2026 |
That is a total of 16 examination days, split into four clusters with rest gaps in between — a structure the RRBs typically adopt when candidate volume runs into the lakhs and centres need turnaround time between sittings.
Important: The schedule is tentative. Individual candidates will only know their exact date, shift and reporting time from the exam city intimation slip, not from this calendar.
The RRB Group D exam city slip will be activated 10 days before your scheduled exam date. For candidates in the August 3-6 cluster, this means the link is effectively live now or opening imminently.
The city intimation slip carries:
Your allotted exam city
Date of your CBT 1
Shift timing
Travel authority download link for SC/ST candidates (free travel pass)
SC and ST candidates must download the travel authority from the same window — it is not issued separately and is not available after the exam.
The RRB Group D CBT 1 admit card for CEN 09/2025 will be available for download approximately four days before the candidate's individual exam date. It will not be released for all candidates at once; the release is staggered by exam date.
To download, candidates will need to use the RRB Group D candidate login with their registration number and date of birth on their regional RRB website.
This is the single most overlooked instruction in the current advisory, and it applies even to candidates who already completed Aadhaar verification during the application stage.
The RRBs have directed all candidates to ensure their Aadhaar remains unlocked in the UIDAI system before reporting to the exam centre. A locked Aadhaar biometric will fail authentication at the registration desk, causing delays during biometric verification on exam day.
Candidates who had locked their Aadhaar biometrics for security reasons should unlock them via the UIDAI portal or mAadhaar app well before the exam date, and not on the morning of the exam.
Candidates must carry two original identity documents to the examination centre. One of these must be the same photo identity document declared in the application form.
Candidates who fail to produce the required documents will not be permitted to appear for the RRB Group D 2026 exam. There is no provision for a substitute document, a photocopy, or a digital image in place of an original.
Acceptable original photo IDs generally include:
Aadhaar card / e-Aadhaar
PAN card
Voter ID
Passport
Driving licence
School or college photo identity card
Bank passbook with photograph
The Railway Recruitment Boards have issued a fresh caution against touts and fraudulent individuals promising railway jobs in exchange for money.
The Board has reiterated that selection under CEN 09/2025 is based solely on performance in the Computer-Based Test and merit. No other means can influence the recruitment process. Candidates approached by any individual or agency claiming to secure a Group D posting should treat it as a scam and report it.
With days left, revision strategy matters more than fresh learning. The RRB Group D CBT 1 covers four sections:
1. General Science — Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences at approximately Class 10 level.
2. Mathematics — Number system, BODMAS, decimals, fractions, LCM and HCF, ratio and proportion, percentages, mensuration, time and work, time and distance, simple and compound interest, profit and loss, algebra, geometry and trigonometry, elementary statistics, square root, age calculations, calendar and clock, pipes and cistern.
3. General Intelligence and Reasoning — Analogies, alphabetical and number series, coding-decoding, mathematical operations, relationships, syllogism, Venn diagram, data interpretation and sufficiency, conclusions and decision making, similarities and differences, analytical reasoning, classification, directions, statement-argument and assumptions.
4. General Awareness on Current Affairs — Science and technology, sports, culture, personalities, economics, politics and other subjects of importance.
There is a negative marking of 1/3 mark for each wrong answer. The exam is qualifying in nature at the CBT 1 stage, followed by the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Document Verification.
