The School Education and Sports Department of Maharashtra officially completed the computerized draw for the RTE 25% Admission 2026-27 today, April 6, 2026. Held at Vidya Nirbhaya in Pune at 11:00 AM, the lottery process determines the school placement for 2,89,609 students across the state under the Right to Education Act.
As the live streaming of the draw concluded this afternoon, the focus now shifts to the official portal where the selection lists are being uploaded district-wise.

Parents can verify their child's allotment status by following these steps:
Access the Portal: Navigate to the official Maharashtra Student Admission Portal.
Select the Academic Year: Choose the 2026-27 session from the menu.
Check Allotment List: Click on the 'Lottery Selection List' and filter by district or application ID.
Wait for SMS: The department will send automated SMS alerts to the mobile number registered during the application process.
Note: Due to high server traffic, the portal may experience delays. It is recommended to check the status during off-peak hours or wait for the official text notification.
This year, the state government has introduced several critical changes to make the process more inclusive and transparent:
Previously, applicants were largely restricted to schools within a 1 km radius. This year, parents had the flexibility to select schools across three categories: within 1 km, 1 to 3 km, and beyond 3 km, significantly increasing the chances of securing a seat in a preferred institution.
To curb fraudulent entries, the department has updated the list of valid documents. Nationalized bank passbooks are now the primary accepted form of residency proof. Notably, gas books are no longer considered valid documentation.
For applicants under the disabled category, a certificate proving at least 40% disability is mandatory. Failure to provide this during the verification stage will result in immediate disqualification.
If your child’s name appears in the selection list, follow these instructions to secure the seat:
Verify Google Coordinates: Ensure the address provided matches the Google location submitted in the form, as mismatches can lead to admission cancellation.
Avoid Duplicate Applications: Any child found to have multiple applications submitted will be disqualified from the process entirely.
Physical Verification: Take the original documents and the allotment letter to the designated help centers for final approval.
The selection list is typically uploaded within 2 to 3 days following the lottery draw. Parents can log in to the student portal to download the allotment letter.
SMS delivery depends on telecom service providers. If you do not receive a text, log in directly to the official admission portal using your application credentials to check the status manually.
Certain details, such as the child's date of birth, cannot be modified once the final submission is made. Only minor errors could be corrected via the 'unconfirm' facility if utilized before the draw.
Candidates on the waiting list will be considered for admission only if seats remain vacant after the first round of selected candidates completes their verification.
