Based on the official UPSC calendar and past trends, the commission traditionally releases the e-admit cards 10 to 15 days prior to the examination. With the UPSC Prelims 2026 scheduled for May 24, 2026, the admit cards are anticipated to be live between May 12 and May 14, 2026.

This year, UPSC has introduced significant measures to ensure a fair examination process. For the first time, AI-based Face Authentication will be implemented at various centers to prevent impersonation. Furthermore, PwBD candidates will now be allotted their first-choice exam center as per the latest commission guidelines.

Visit Official Portals: Go to upsc.gov.in or upsconline.nic.in.
Locate Link: Click on the "e-Admit Card: Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2026" link.
Choose Login Mode: Select either Registration ID or Roll Number.
Enter Credentials: Input your Date of Birth and the Captcha code shown on the screen.
Review Instructions: Read the "Important Instructions" page carefully before proceeding to download.
Print: Download the PDF and take a clear printout on A4 size paper.
Pro Tip: Ensure your photograph and QR code are clearly visible on the printout. If the photo is blurred, you must carry two identical photographs (one for each session) along with an original Photo ID proof.
Reporting Time: Entry into the examination venue closes 30 minutes before the scheduled commencement of the exam (9:00 AM for the morning session and 2:00 PM for the afternoon session).
Mandatory Documents: Carry the printed Admit Card and the original Photo ID Card (the same one used during the application).
Prohibited Items: Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, and any other electronic gadgets are strictly banned.
Pen Type: Use only a Black Ball Point Pen for marking responses on the OMR sheet.
