The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has declared the UPSSSC Excise Constable Result 2026 for the shortlisting stage of the Aabkari Sipahi recruitment. A total of 32,891 candidates have been shortlisted for the Main Examination against 820 Excise Constable vacancies, and the commission has also published the category-wise cut-off marks along with the result. Candidates who applied under Advertisement No. 08-Exam/2026 can now check the UPSSSC Excise Constable merit list 2026 and download the shortlisted candidates' PDF from the official website, upsssc.gov.in.
This UPSSSC Excise Constable merit list update is a crucial milestone for lakhs of PET 2025 qualified aspirants across Uttar Pradesh, as only shortlisted candidates will now be allowed to appear in the Excise Constable Main (Written) Examination 2026.
According to the commission, shortlisting for the Main Examination has been done strictly on the basis of UPSSSC PET 2025 normalised scores. Candidates who scored zero or negative marks in either their actual or normalised PET 2025 score have not been considered eligible for the Mains stage.
UPSSSC has further clarified that the entire shortlisting exercise has been completed in compliance with the directions of the Allahabad High Court, giving the process additional legal sanctity and removing ambiguity for candidates who had raised queries about the eligibility screening.
The recruitment was originally notified for 722 vacancies. UPSSSC later issued a revised notification adding 98 more posts, taking the total Excise Constable (Aabkari Sipahi) vacancy count to 820. The online application window for this recruitment ran from June 4 to June 24, 2026, and applicants were required to hold a valid UPSSSC PET 2025 scorecard along with an Intermediate (Class 12) qualification. The post carries Pay Level-2 with a pay scale of Rs 19,900 to Rs 63,200.

The category-wise cut off released with the result reflects the last normalised PET 2025 score at which candidates have been shortlisted in each category — Unreserved (UR), OBC, EWS, SC, and ST — along with horizontal reservation categories such as women, ex-servicemen, and PwD, as applicable. Candidates should download the official cut-off PDF from upsssc.gov.in for the exact category-wise marks, as these figures are published only by the commission.
Aspirants must remember that this is the shortlisting cut off, not the final selection cut off. The final merit will be prepared on the basis of performance in the Main Examination and subsequent stages.
The commission is expected to release the detailed UPSSSC Excise Constable Main Exam 2026 schedule shortly. Shortlisted candidates have been advised to keep checking the official website regularly for the exam date, admit card release, and other notifications, and to continue their preparation without any break.
The remaining selection stages include the Mains Written Examination, Physical Measurement Test / Physical Standard Test (PMT/PST), and Document Verification. The Main Examination will be an objective-type paper consisting of 100 multiple-choice questions to be completed in two hours, and candidates should now shift their focus entirely to the Mains syllabus.
Male candidates must have a minimum height of 167.6 cm with chest measurement of 80 cm (unexpanded) and 85 cm (expanded). Female candidates require a minimum height of 152 cm (147 cm for SC/ST) and a minimum weight of 45 kg. Shortlisted candidates who clear the Mains will be called for the PMT/PST round, so physical preparation should begin alongside written exam studies.
