WBJEEB has activated the centralised counselling portal for candidates who qualified in WBJEE 2026, marking the start of the seat-allotment process for engineering, architecture, and pharmacy admissions across the state. A single registration now covers all three rounds of counselling, so candidates who register once won't need to repeat the process unless they exit voluntarily or skip a round entirely.
| Event | Date |
| Registration & Choice Filling Begins | June 30, 2026 |
| Last Date to Register/Fill Choices | July 5, 2026 |
| Round 1 Seat Allotment Result | July 7, 2026 |
| Seat Acceptance Fee Payment | After allotment (window specified on portal) |
| Document Verification & Reporting | As per allotted institute's schedule |
Candidates holding a valid WBJEE 2026 rank
Candidates holding a valid JEE Main 2026 rank (eligible only for the 10% approved seats in self-financing institutes participating in state-level counselling)
Candidates must choose upfront whether they're registering under WBJEE rank, WBJEE + JEE Main, or JEE Main-only seats — this choice cannot be changed later
Visit wbjeeb.nic.in/wbjee and open the counselling registration link
Log in using your WBJEE application number, roll number, and date of birth (or JEE Main credentials, if applicable)
Pay the non-refundable registration fee online via net banking, debit, or credit card
Fill your college and course preferences in strict order of priority
Lock your choices before July 5 — once locked, they cannot be edited
After Round 1 allotment on July 7, log in again to check your result and download the allotment letter
Round 1 (Allotment): First seat allotment based on rank, preference, and seat matrix
Round 2 (Upgradation): Candidates who accepted a Round 1 seat but want a higher preference can opt for upgradation; those with no seat yet can still be freshly allotted
Mop-Up Round: A final round to fill vacant seats, open to candidates who withdrew, missed earlier rounds, or are registering for the first time
Candidates who receive their first-preference choice in Round 1 are not eligible for further upgradation, since they've already secured their top pick.
Based on the previous cycle's structure, the Round 1 registration fee was around ₹500 for both WBJEE and JEE Main rank holders, while the seat acceptance fee (refundable) was approximately ₹5,000. Exact 2026 fee amounts will be confirmed once WBJEEB's detailed notification is published.
With engineering admissions at institutes like Jadavpur University, IIEST Shibpur, and MAKAUT-affiliated colleges on the line, missing the July 5 choice-locking deadline effectively removes a candidate from Round 1 allotment. Candidates are advised not to wait for the "detailed notification" WBJEEB has promised, since registration is already live.
