WBJEE 2026 Counselling Registration Starts June 30: Direct Link, Documents, Steps & Everything You Must Know

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has officially confirmed that WBJEE 2026 counselling registration will begin on June 30, 2026. The centralised counselling registration for candidates who have qualified in WBJEE-2026 will start on and from 30th June 2026, and a detailed notification along with the complete counselling schedule will be published shortly. Candidates who wish to secure admission to engineering, technology, pharmacy, and architecture courses across West Bengal must not miss this window.

This is one of the most important deadlines for WBJEE 2026 aspirants. Missing the registration window means losing your seat — there will be no second chance to register once the last date is crossed.

WBJEE 2026 Counselling: Official Website and Direct Link

All WBJEE 2026 counselling activities will take place exclusively online. The counselling process is conducted at wbjeeb.nic.in/wbjee, and no offline counselling will be held. Candidates should bookmark this link right now and avoid relying on any third-party portals for registration.

Who Is Eligible for WBJEE 2026 Counselling?

Any candidate meeting the eligibility criteria and having a rank in WBJEE and/or JEE Main 2026 will be eligible to register for counselling. However, there is a key distinction: JEE Main candidates are eligible only for the 10% approved seats in participating self-financing institutes. WBJEE rank holders have access to the full seat matrix across government colleges, universities, and self-financing institutions.

Frequently Asked Question (In-News): Can a JEE Main candidate who did not appear for WBJEE apply for WBJEE 2026 counselling?

Yes. Candidates with a valid JEE Main 2026 score can register for WBJEE counselling separately and are eligible for seat allotment based on their JEE Main rank.

How to Register for WBJEE 2026 Counselling: Step-by-Step

1. To register for WBJEE 2026 counselling, candidates must visit the official website.
2. Click on the counselling registration link, and then click on "New Candidate Registration."
3. Two options will be available — registration through WBJEE, through JEE Main, or through both.
4. Candidates must enter their application number, roll number, name, and date of birth, and then pay the counselling fee online.
5. The counselling fee of Rs 500 is payable through net banking, credit card, or debit card. No cash or offline payment is accepted.

WBJEE 2026 Counselling Process: What Happens After Registration?

Registration is just the starting point. The counselling process includes registration, choice filling, seat allotment, document verification, reporting to the allotted college, and admission confirmation.

A critical tip for choice filling: WBJEEB recommends filling at least 20 choices to improve your chances of allotment — a well-thought-out list of 20 or more realistic and varied choices can make all the difference.

Seat Acceptance Fee

After seat allotment, candidates must act quickly. Students will have to pay a WBJEE 2026 seat acceptance fee of Rs 5,000 online to confirm their admission. This fee is refundable if students withdraw their admission in the second round, but if they fail to meet the refund criteria, the fee will not be returned.

Frequently Asked Question (In-News): What happens if I do not pay the seat acceptance fee on time?

Failure to pay the seat acceptance fee will lead to cancellation of admission.

Round 2 Counselling: Upgradation

WBJEEB will conduct WBJEE 2026 Round 2 counselling as an upgradation round. It is held for candidates who were not allotted a seat in Round 1 or those who are not satisfied with their allotment and chose upgradation. However, candidates who received their first-choice college and branch in Round 1 will not be able to participate in Round 2. Also important: for Round 2, fresh registrations or new choice filling will not be allowed.

WBJEE 2026 Counselling: Full List of Documents Required

Candidates must keep the following documents ready before registration opens on June 30. Being unprepared at this stage can cost valuable time.

Document verification will be conducted at the allotted institute after seat allotment, where candidates must also pay the tuition fee. Carry both original documents and self-attested photocopies to avoid complications.

WBJEE 2026 Result: Already Declared

The WBJEE 2026 result has already been declared, and the rank card is available at wbjeeb.nic.in. Rank 1 this year went to Shaswat Banerjee. Candidates who have not yet downloaded their rank card must do so immediately before the counselling portal opens tomorrow.
