The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode is likely to release the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025 answer key and response sheets in the first week of December, following the pattern of previous years. The institute conducted the exam for 2.58 lakh registered management aspirants across 339 test centres in 170 cities.
CAT 2025 was held in three shifts, with each session running for 120 minutes. This year’s attendance stood at around 86%, slightly lower than last year when 2.93 lakh candidates appeared and the overall turnout touched 89%.
Once the provisional answer key is issued, candidates can file objections through the official portal, iimcat.ac.in. The objection fee will be refunded if any challenge is found valid. The final answer key, prepared after reviewing all representations, will form the basis for the CAT 2025 results.
Candidates can also use the response sheet and answer key to estimate their scores. They must download both documents, compare their responses, and apply the CAT marking scheme:
MCQs: +3 for a correct answer, –1 for an incorrect answer
Non-MCQs: +3 for a correct answer, no negative marking
The raw score for MCQs is calculated using the formula:
3 × (number of correct answers) – 1 × (number of incorrect answers).
The final total after adding MCQ and non-MCQ marks gives the estimated CAT score.
Percentile estimation follows a separate process. After normalisation, each candidate is assigned a scaled score for every section and for the overall test. Ranks are determined based on these scores, with tied scores receiving the same rank. The percentile is then calculated using the formula:
P = [(N – r) / N] × 100, where N is the total number of candidates who appeared and r is the candidate’s rank.
