RRB Nursing Superintendent Eligibility 2026

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have either of the following qualifications:

• A certificate as a Registered Nurse and Midwife after passing a three-year course in General Nursing and Midwifery from a School of Nursing or another institution recognised by the Indian Nursing Council.

• B.Sc Nursing.

• Create an Account: Candidates who created an account for earlier RRB CENs in 2024, 2025 or 2026 should use the same account credentials for CEN 05/2026. Candidates without an account must create one before applying.

The examination fee can be paid online through internet banking, debit card, credit card or UPI. Candidates who appear in the CBT will receive the applicable refund after deduction of bank charges.

Candidates claiming the EBC fee concession must have the required valid EBC document, BPL card, Izzat MST or other prescribed certificate on or before the application closing date. EBC, EWS and OBC are separate categories under the notification.

The RRB Nursing Superintendent Selection Process 2026 includes the following stages:

• Computer Based Test (CBT): Candidates have to appear for the CBT conducted by the RRB. The CBT performance and prescribed minimum qualifying marks will be considered for shortlisting candidates for the next stage.

• Shortlisting for Document Verification: Candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for Document Verification based on their CBT performance and minimum qualifying marks.

• Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must appear for Document Verification and produce their original certificates and required documents.

• Medical Examination: Candidates who qualify in Document Verification must pass the prescribed medical examination for the Nursing Superintendent post.

• Final Empanelment: Final empanelment will be based on CBT merit, successful Document Verification and passing the prescribed medical examination. It is also subject to final verification of educational and community certificates, along with antecedent and character verification.

• Railway Zone/Production Unit Allotment: After completion of the recruitment stages, the Railway Zone or Production Unit will be allotted based on the candidate’s preferences, merit, medical standard and available vacancies.

RRB Nursing Superintendent CBT Pattern 2026

The Nursing Superintendent recruitment will have a single-stage CBT. The question paper will contain 100 objective questions for 100 marks.

The duration of the CBT will be 90 minutes. PwBD/PWD candidates who are eligible for the scribe facility will get 120 minutes.

The question paper will contain objective multiple-choice questions with four options. One-third of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for every wrong answer. The section-wise distribution is indicative and may vary in the actual question paper.

The minimum qualifying marks are:

• UR/EWS: 40%

• OBC-NCL/SC: 30%

• ST: 25%

RRB Nursing Superintendent Medical Standard

The Nursing Superintendent post requires the C1 medical standard. Candidates called for Document Verification must also pass the prescribed medical fitness examination conducted by the Railway Administration.

Under the C1 standard, candidates should be physically fit in all respects. The prescribed visual standards include distant vision of 6/12 and 6/18 with or without glasses. Near vision should be Sn. 0.6 and 0.6 with or without glasses where reading or close work is required.

Candidates who fail to meet the prescribed medical standard for the opted post will not be considered for empanelment for that post.
