NSEJS PYQ helps you practise questions asked in earlier National Standard Examination in Junior Science papers. The Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) has provided question papers for different years. The available papers provided by IAPT include 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022–23 and 2021–22. These papers allow you to work with questions from previous NSEJS examinations and understand the format used in different years.
The 2025 NSEJS paper was conducted on November 23, 2025, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. It contains 60 questions and has a maximum of 216 marks. Questions 1 to 48 are in Part A-1, where only one option is correct. Questions 49 to 60 are in Part A-2, where one or more options may be correct. The paper also states that calculators are not allowed.

The 2024 paper also has 60 questions. Its instructions divide the paper into Part A-1 and Part A-2, with different marking rules for the two parts. The 2023 paper also contains 60 questions and follows the A-1 and A-2 format.
The 2021–22 paper is titled Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Junior Science 2021–22 (Part I). It has 33 questions and a duration of 75 minutes.
You can use NSEJS past papers as timed practice rather than only reading the questions. The papers have specific formats and marking rules, so your practice should follow the instructions given in the paper you are attempting.
Attempt the paper within its stated duration: The 2025 paper has a 120-minute duration, while the 2021–22 paper has a 75-minute duration. Use the time given in each paper when you practise it.
Follow the actual question format: In the 2025 paper, Part A-1 has one correct option, while Part A-2 can have more than one correct option. You should mark answers according to the rules of the section instead of treating all questions in the same way.
Account for the marking scheme: In the 2025 paper, a correct Part A-1 answer carries 3 marks and an incorrect answer results in a deduction of 1 mark. Part A-2 has no negative marking, but you receive 6 marks only when you select all correct alternatives without selecting an incorrect one.
Practise without a calculator when required: The 2025 paper clearly states that calculators are not allowed. Follow this instruction while attempting the paper so that your practice matches the examination conditions.
Review the type of questions after each attempt: The 2025 paper includes questions from biology, chemistry and physics. The questions include areas such as DNA replication, animal classification, chemical bonding, organic chemistry, motion, friction, electricity and magnetic fields. Reviewing the questions after an attempt can help you identify the areas covered in the paper.
Use the solutions after completing the paper: You can first complete the questions independently and then use the official answers to check your responses. This approach is useful when working with NSEJS PYQ with solutions because you can identify the questions where your answer differs from the official answer.
NSEJS PYQ provides access to question papers from earlier NSEJS examinations. The IAPT resources listed above include papers from 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022–23 and 2021–22. You can download the papers, attempt them according to their respective instructions, and check your answers after completing each paper.
Using NSEJS solved previous-year questions in this way allows you to practise the actual questions released by IAPT and review the paper format used in different years.
